To be instrumental in people’s lives and then to have them abandon you or want to kill you can be debilitating to the soul. David’s men so soon forget the fame they had because of David’s exploits. They became known as his mighty men because of his leadership, yet they were willing to stone him because all they had acquired due to his exploits were taken away.

In 2 Samuel 1 we also continue to encounter grief in David’s life. We find David grieving over the death of king Saul and his sons. David found no pleasure in the death of Saul who hunted him down to take his life. And of course, the death of his beloved friend, Jonathan caused David even more stress.

2 Samuel 1:17-27
And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son: (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.) The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen! Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel. How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places. I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women. How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!

This is truly a man acquainted with grief and depression from the stress of losing his king and best friend.

In 2 Samuel 2 we see David being anointed king over Judah but not of all Israel as Saul was. That would be a blow to any man’s self-esteem after the songs they all sang of David which enraged Saul. For Abner who was the captain of Saul’s host had made Ishbosheth king over all Israel. (See 2 Samuel 2:8-10) Yet David was anointed by Samuel, the last judge of Israel to be king over all Israel. David had to humble himself in his position as king over Judah only.

How many times did you have to wait in a place of humility until your opportunity came? How many times have you had to toe the line, stand on the bottom rung until your time came? It was not pleasant, at times humiliating because you and others knew you were capable yet put down. As David had to play the madman to save his life he also had to wait patiently until his time came. This can be most humiliating especially when you have the credentials, paid the dues and have the experience and yet not to be given the position. All of Israel in times past lauded David, yet knowing he was anointed to be the next king they did not elevate him to his rightful position as king over all Israel.

We read in 2 Samuel how David arrives back in Jerusalem with the ark of the covenant and dances before Jehovah. Michal, Saul’s daughter who was supposed to be his wife despised him in her heart and then before his face. (See 2 Samuel 6:14-23)

2 Samuel 6:20
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

Michal scolded David publicly. How much more does David have to endure? To be dressed down publicly and then having to recover himself from the embarrassment. “And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.” (2 Samuel 6:21-22) There are certain things one should not do to the servants of the Most High. There are those that feel they can strip the servant of Jehovah of their dignity in public, but Jehovah always have a response. “Therefore, Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.” (2 Samuel 6:23)

How severe was that for Michal not to have children. The opportunity to give birth to the image of Jehovah is the first commandment given in Genesis 1:28, “…be fruitful and multiply.” Consider that having despised David Jehovah would not permit her to raise children that would in turn despise David. We will see this later as another member of Saul’s family level insults upon David. To be humiliated is one thing but to be publicly humiliated is another. David’s life is a picture of Yeshua and all He endured for the sake of salvation to all.

In 2 Samuel 7 David wants to build a temple unto Jehovah but he is told it is not for him to do but for another. Have you ever had a great idea and someone else comes along and do it instead of you? How many times has Jehovah taken your idea to bless Him and given it to another? In David’s case he is told that after his death one that proceed out of his bowels will build Jehovah a temple. To take your desire and give it to another can’t be that encouraging. Yet David willingly accepts Jehovah’s will as noted in 2 Samuel 7:18-29.

Are we able to accept Jehovah’s will over our own desires? David endured all the hardship but Solomon his son will reap His blessings. Yes, it can happen this way. Can you and I relinquish our desires that the fulfillment and blessings thereof might fall upon another? It is difficult to see another run with our ideas but listen to what Jehovah pronounced to David.

2 Samuel 7:16
And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Whatever slight David might have felt it did not last long. What David found himself saying was, “Who am I, O LORD GOD? Yes, even so, who are we?” David’s life is an example to all of us that we too can endure adversity and turn over the blessings to others.

We come next to 2 Samuel 12 after David sinned against Uriah and after Bathsheba has given birth to a son. Jehovah, through the prophet Nathan, tells David that the child will die. David implores Jehovah to spare the child but after seven days the child dies anyway. Indeed, to lose a child can have enormous impacts on the heart and mind. David was grieved beyond measure in hopes that his child would live.

2 Samuel 12:16-17
David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

How devastating this was to David. It was due to his own sin. David’s heart was sorely grieved when men killed in his name, but how much more when his child died because of his sin? To know you have caused someone’s death, first Uriah’s and then to know your child’s life will be forfeited for your sin can be very devastating. This is more so especially when all of Israel knew what he did and why the child died. David finally reconciled himself to the will of Jehovah when he said, “But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” (2 Samuel 12:23)

After David lost his baby son, we then encounter a treacherous situation within his family. This is the story of Absalom’s sister Tamar and their brother Amnon. Amnon having sexual desires for his half-sister plots with a cousin to seduce her which culminates in rape. 2 Samuel 13:21 tells us, “But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth.” Imagine David hearing the news of this and the levels of anger, hurt and guilt he must have felt. It was with his permission that Tamar went in to Amnon. David the great warrior, the same David who lusted after Bathsheba could not discern lust in his own son’s eyes. His own son took advantage of his fatherly concern and bid him to send his sister unto him so he could rape her.

The word “wroth” in Hebrew is “charah” denoting to glow hot, burn with anger. David is not only feeling anger but betrayal and responsibility for the act perpetrated against his daughter by his own son. What might the people think of David understanding that he gave Tamar leave to go to her brother. His baby boy dies due to his sin with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband and now he sets things in motion for his son Amnon to rape his daughter from another mother. David was acquainted with much sorrow. How might that affect him emotionally. We know he was greatly wounded in the heart from his psalms.

Not only was he betrayed by Amnon but then he had to face another betrayal by Absalom. For two years Absalom plotted his revenge against Amnon. He used the same trickery Amnon used to get his father, David, to bring things about. Amnon pretended sickness to get Tamar to his house and Absalom pretended a celebration in order to get at Amnon. Once again King David granted permission for all his sons to go to celebrate with Absalom. They had David’s permission but in deception Absalom had ordered his servants to kill Amnon and they did.

When the news got to David it wasn’t that Amnon alone was killed but that all his sons were murdered by Absalom.

2 Samuel 13:31
Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

It is one thing to lose one son but to imagine for a time that all your sons have been killed is quite another thing. David had wives and concubines and from each many children.

NOTE: Because of the lack of reading the Bible many people believe Adam and Eve only had three sons only, Cain, Abel and Seth. The truth is that they had many sons and daughters in the 930 years of Adam’s life. (Read Genesis 5) The Bible leaves merely the thread that follows to the Messiah, so we hear most often of the person that issues from those patriarchs that are the bloodline to Messiah. It in no way means that in some cases there were none other sons and daughters. For example, Abraham had Ismael and then Isaac but after Sarah died, he had six other sons with his wife Keturah who is actually Hagar. Read Genesis 25:1-4. The name Keturah means “incense” as in perfumed. The root of that name, Qatar” mean to fumigate, to turn into fragrance by fire. Hagar having been sent away by Abraham dwelt in Beer-lanairoi. We see this place mentioned in Genesis 16:14. Then we find that in Genesis 24:62 Isaac is seen coming from that same well in Lahairoi. Isaac spent much time there which was a distance from where he actually lived. We find by Genesis 25 Abraham has taken “again” a wife, Keturah. “Again” is the word “Yacaph” also meaning “do again.” Another meaning of the name Keturah is “one who remains chaste.” Having looked at the root of Keturah we can conclude that in all that time away from Abraham she remained chaste, she became as one perfumed or turned into fragrance during her exile afore from her husband Abraham. Hagar’s name became Keturah by the very chasten life she lived in Lahairoi. Jehovah remembered her. So, we should not assume that because only one child is mentioned that was all the children someone had.

Back to the commentary, David had many sons. You should read the details of this story in 2 Samuel 13 because there are other characters that impact this story than just Amnon and Absalom. David’s nephew, Jonadab was actually the instigator in this story. The conclusion of this story is that Amnon is killed and David mourned for him every day until finally he accepted his death as noted in 2 Samuel 13:39 and Absalom fled from David for three years. Imagine how heart wrenching this all was for David. And it does not end here.

David’s life was one drama after another, yet he endured to a ripe old age. David endured by calling upon Jehovah. How much more can we endure having the presence of the Holy Spirit comforting us? As much as David was acquainted with grief, despair, betrayal, treachery, loss, personal and national sin he never gave up though many of his psalms conveys he was on the verge.

We find David’s situation with his son Absalom not at an end. Absalom plotted for 2 years to kill his brother Amnon and now we find him returning from exile with another plot. This time he puts himself beside the way of the gate in 2 Samuel 15 usurping David’s position as judge over Israel.

2 Samuel 15:4-6
Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

The text goes on to say that after 40 years Absalom fenagled his way with the people. Forty years is a long time to plot to overthrow one’s father and David felt the wrath and endured humiliation from Absalom. The Bible says in 2 Samuel 14:25, “in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.” Talk about one using their beauty and counsel to wrangle the kingdom away from David.

Yes beloved, people will employ all sorts of measures to overthrow you.

After forty years Absalom sent spies throughout Israel to rise up against his father. “And the conspiracy was so strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.” (2 Samuel 15:12b)

Now we find David after more than forty years running for his life again, but this time away from his own son whose desire was to steal the kingdom away from him. David and all his servants fled leaving only ten concubines behind to keep the house in Jerusalem. They all passed over the brook Kidron toward the way of the wilderness. David sent the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem and then he went up to the mount of Olivet and wept. There David found out that his own counselor, Ahithopel was among the conspirators with Absalom. David prayed that Jehovah would turn his counsel into foolishness.

We find in 2 Samuel 16, that on top of all this betrayal here comes another betrayal. Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son whom David took into his own household, rear his head. He too has ambitions to take back the throne. And yet another from the house of Saul, Shimei comes forth, cursing David while casting stones at him as he flees.

2 Samuel 16:12
And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial: The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.

Yet David did not requite him evil for berating him as he went even in front of all those that followed him. “And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill's side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.” (2 Samuel 16:13) How devasting to David’s ego would that be as he is on the run from his own son who defiled his concubines in the sight of all Israel. David’s believed in his heart that Jehovah allowed these things to occur for a purpose. David endured the cursing. To Shimei’s credit, he humiliated David in front of his men, but he had the foresight to beg for forgiveness in front of those same men. Some people will humiliate you in front of others but want only to apologize where none can see.

How much are we able to endure until we are certain of Jehovah’s hand in the situation? David endured much until he understood it. Do you remember how Joseph’s brothers feared him after their father died? Genesis 50:19-20 “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” What of Esther? Esther 4:13-14, “Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” There are things that happen for a divine purpose.

The next great humiliation to David in front of all Israel was Absalom taking his concubines in the sight of all Israel. 2 Samuel 16:22, “So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.” This was the epitome of disgrace. Some people will take pride in humiliating you in the presence of others, especially those you respect or who hold you in esteem.

Next follows the betrayal by Joab who was instructed not to harm Absalom once he was taken. To David’s grief he cried these words in 2 Samuel 18:33, “And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!” The third time the scriptures noted the death of one of David’s sons.

To this display of grief Joab had to bring David back to his senses.

2 Samuel 19:5-8
And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well. Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now. Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

David had to put aside his own grief for the sake of his people. He also had to endure the counsel of the man who took the life of his son. Can you accept good at the hands of those that harm you? Only with Jehovah’s grace can you do it.

Next comes Shimei who cursed him on the way out of Jerusalem when he fled from Absalom. He meets David at the Jordan River to beg forgiveness.

2 Samuel 19:21-23
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD'S anointed? And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel? Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

Although Shimei humiliated David publicly, David was able to forgive him for the sake of setting the better example. David met this man leaving and returning. There are some people in our lives that we will meet coming and going who will hurt us and even remind us of those things we wish to forget. David showed us how to get pass those moments. Offer them life when they intended death to you.

Upon David’s return to Jerusalem both the men of Judah and the men of Israel began to bicker over who should have more access to him.

2 Samuel 19:43
And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.

You would think that the king’s head would grow large for the fierceness of how the people fought over him, but rather than this being a time of feeling good it became a time of division.

2 Samuel 20:1-2
And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel. So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

Instead of David reveling in his return to Jerusalem he is faced with one shame after another. It took twenty years before David became king after being anointed. Then another seven years before the entire kingdom was his. Now at this time when all should be well, the kingdom is split again. How heart wrenching for David to have to endured this after he had proven himself time and time again.

Finally, there was some good coming David’s way. David’s last battle was one that truly resulted in his receiving good favor from his people. David public life began with the fight between him and the giant Goliath and ended with his battle with another giant, Ishi-benob.

2 Samuel 21:15-17
Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint. And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

The people’s love for David by this time had fully blossomed and their requited him with keeping him safe from harm in any future battles. Israel retired David from participation in war. David paid his dues in more ways than one.

At this time, we have the words of David in this song unto Jehovah.

2 Samuel 22
And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them. And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury. And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad. Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me. Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me, And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

Our lives should always culminate in recognizing the hand Jehovah has had in our lives. We all have come this far by faith, leaning on the LORD.”

2 Samuel 23:1-5
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

In all of David’s life, Jehovah was building character in him so when he could lead Israel. David was acquainted with grief and depression. Israel faced grief and depression from their enemies. David’s psalms reflect the emotional pain he endured in every situation.

You only need to turn back and read the psalms of David to hear the words that reflected the pain in his heart concerning the many betrayals.

Look at some of the examples found in the Book of Psalm:

Psalm 3, A psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son, “LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.”

Psalm 4, “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.”

Psalm 6, “O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.”

Psalm 7, (Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto the LORD, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite.) “O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.”

Psalm 9, “Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:”

Psalm 13, “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.”

Psalm 18, To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said: “The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.”

Psalm 22, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.” These words of David were also prophetic concerning the Messiah. David first cried theses words according to his own suffering.

Psalm 23, we already know that David wrote this song while a young shepherd boy relegated to the task of shepherding sheep. This Psalm is covered above.

Psalm 25, “Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.”

Psalm 27, “When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.”

Psalm 31, “Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength…Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

Psalm 34, (A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.) “…This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

Psalm 35, “Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.

Psalm 38, “My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

Psalm 40, “Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

Psalm 41, “Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Psalm 51, “(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” David also was grieved in his heart when confronted with his sin with Bathsheba. This sin truly grieved his soul.

Psalm 54, (To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?) “…For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.”

Psalm 55, “Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication. Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.

Psalm 57, “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.”

Psalm 61, “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Psalm 62, “How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Psalm 64, “Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

Psalm 69, “Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

Psalm 109, “For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause…For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads. Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

Psalm 124, “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us.”

Psalm 140, “Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.”

Psalm 141, “LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee…Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.”

Psalm 143, “For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate…Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me…And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.”

These are exerts taken from all the psalms David wrote that are recorded in the Bible that alluded to his distressful frame of mind.

You cannot fully appreciate David’s legacy to us in the Bible unless you give credence to all his sufferings. Unlike those that are without hope, David always knew he could call upon Jehovah to bring him through his bouts of depression, helplessness, shame, grief etc. Nearly all of David’s psalms are reflective of his sorrows and these were many.

You only need to read his words to hear and feel the depths of his griefs. Many have struggled all their lives even as David have. They have known grief and agony inflicted from those about them, those who are family members, spouse, children, friends, acquaintances, etc. You can be sure you are not alone.

Jehovah can sustain you and deliver you as He did David. Hold on to Jehovah’s unchanging hand. What He did for David He can do for you. This same David Jehovah called him a man after His own heart. You simply do not know what hopes Jehovah has for you unless you endure and see this life through to the end.

1 Samuel 13:14
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

Acts 13:22
And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

" There Is NO Escape "

There is no escape from this earth except through the blood of Yeshua and His saving grace. It is prominent in Hollywood movies to depict all scenarios of escape from this earth. We are entertained with movies with man escaping the bounds of the earth to outer space and outer limits, hurling through NASA’s great expanse of galaxies to seek refugee from what we have done to the earth. There is no escape.

They present us with numerous scenarios of aliens breaching our solar system and coming to either reclaim the DNA they sowed on the earth, to attack us for evolving and becoming a threat to the greater galaxies, and even to inviting them to come just so we can exchange knowledge and then we turn our weapons against them or they turn theirs against us. You name it, Hollywood has portrayed it in every scenario. This includes destroying the earth and having to find refugee on some other planet.

Humankind is at the place where we are almost wholeheartedly denying the presence of Jehovah. Many have attributed our creation to aliens who came from far off galaxies to seed the human race as slaves to mine the earth of its gold. Others refuse to believe that a loving Elohim created this world because He foreknew that when evil is let loose because of disobedience He will abolish it forever and save the redeemed. His plan includes that all who by faith receive His gift of salvation will partake in His eternal plan of eternal life.

Many reject His gift and the knowledge of our Elohim who resides above the circle of the earth as the Bible attest.

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

NASA (New Age Satanic Agenda) comes along and tells us that there is no firmament that separates Jehovah’s eternal realm from our realm.

Genesis 1:14 tells us that on the 4th day Jehovah created the sun, moon and luminaries that are for signs, seasons, days and years. This is the beginning of time and before that time was not counted as such but rather that 1000 years is as a day to Jehovah as we reckon time.

We dwell in time which was designed for this place called earth. Outside of this earth time does not exist because Jehovah dwells there. NASA tell us that somewhere above the earth there is an empty vacuum of space and we believe it. They tell us that we can escape this earth realm and go where no man has gone before.

I submit to you that man has not gone beyond the firmament. We are told about Enoch who was translated into that eternal kingdom above. We are told of Elijah who traveled out of this realm into the eternal realm by way of a fiery chariot. We are told of a thief who was promised that on the day our Messiah died that ‘today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.” Ezekiel had a glimpse of Elohim upon His throne in Ezekiel 1 and John had a glimpse of Him upon His throne in Revelation 4. Jacob had His glimpse of Him standing above a ladder with angels ascending and descending in Genesis 28:12. Those that built the tower of Babel knew that Jehovah lived just above the firmament and they tried to ascend by building a tower. No one of true faith should disavow these accounts.

The ancients tried to ascend to the gates of heaven via their tower which Jehovah called Babel. It was there where he scattered the people because they refuse to stay in the place where He put them, in the earth. The people of Babel could not escape so why do we imagine we can. Neither could there break open the door of heaven so why do we think we can with rockets blast our way out. For their efforts that tower was destroyed and for our efforts in building rockets to escape the bounds of the earth those also are being met with destruction.

Yet we have the stupidity to accept NASA’s redefining of the creation of the earth using Copernicus’s heliocentric model of the earth rather than Jehovah’s geocentric model which all the ancient believed in. Jehovah created the sun, moon and luminaries on the 4th day. If the sun was the center of the universe would it not have been created on the 1st day? The light created on the first day was Yeshua, the Day, the bright and morning star, first day dawn, the day star, He is that light that came forth on the first day of creation not the sun. If the sun was the center of the universe it would have been created on the first day. It is a light for the earth not the sustainer of the earth. We get things confused because we don’t read the Bible.

The ancients understood the signs, the seasons, the days and the years and were able to look to them for understanding. We have abandoned Jehovah’s way of reckoning the seasons, days and years so we can’t understand what the ancients knew. Jehovah reckoned these things by the phases of the moon which do not change, we reckon these things by the sun. Daniel warned us that someone would come along and change times and laws.

Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Now we are lost and know not what time it is.

By the way, the ancients were smarter than us. They invented and build such things that we can’t to this day discover how they were done. All we can do in some instances is reverse engineer and claim it as our own inventions. So how smart are we? Other civilizations have proven themselves must smarter than we are. We still have no clue how they did what they did or how they made the great wonders of the world. The ancients with all their knowledge did not make it off this earth so why do we think with machines to help calculate for us we can do better than they?

1 Corinthians 15:39-44
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

These verses states very clearly that none shall see that eternal realm beyond the firmament except through Yeshua. First, we must put off corruption before we can enter in. That goes for all of humanity including the scientist at NASA. Nothing corruptible can exit this earth. Have you not wondered why all the rockets sent to the moon and the so-called space station has exploded? Have you not wondered why when a rocket is shot into so-called space it makes an arch in order to ascend? Try arching an arrow and it will always come back down to the earth. Why do you think we say, “What goes up must come down?” It is because there is no way out of this earth.

What proof do we really have of a space station beyond the bounds of the earth? If you use a telescope and view it does that mean it is really beyond the limits of the earth? How high is the ceiling of the earth? The bible states that the firmament, the “raqiya” is a solid vaulted dome. It also states that Jehovah stretches out a curtain above the earth.

Psalms 104:2
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Why are we deceived except that we do not sift all that we read and hear through the word of Jehovah. 1 Corinthians 15:52 states clearly that those that are in Yeshua shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. We want to be changed without the say so of Jehovah. Man is trying to force his theory of evolution by utilizing all forms of manipulation. We want to alter our DNA. We want to be transhumans because that has nothing to do with Jehovah.

Yes, I know I have covered this topic in many ways before, but it somehow seems to not take hold because science is driving man to ignorance rather than knowledge. Even the church is being caught up in the lies. The title of this commentary is “There Is NO Escape.” We cannot leave the bounds of this earth except by Jehovah’s permission and say so. Enoch, Elijah and the thief on the cross had His permission. What we all have is Jehovah’s gift of eternal life if we choose to receive it. That would be Yeshua and He is the only way, the truth and the eternal life which we all seek.

The church, in its ignorance, is lending a free hand to promote these lies based on false science. Every time we disavow what we ought to know by faith we are teaching the congregations not to trust whole-heartedly in Jehovah’s word. It pains me when I hear a preacher make excuses for what they do not understand. When they spiritualize the truth because they can’t see “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” They make the word of Jehovah a lie because of their unbelief due to their corrupt education and love of science.

Many, including some Christians, are planning to escape the bounds of the earth to seek out new life and new civilizations because rather than take care of the earth, powerful greedy men, have abused it. They have robbed and stripped the earth of its natural resources. Their techniques of extracting what they want from the earth is still polluting it. They think themselves gods, but the Bible tells us they shall die like men (Psalm 82).

The only way of redemption is through Yeshua and the only way to escape sickness and death is through Yeshua, so says the Bible.

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

What we have done to ourselves cannot be eradicated except by Jehovah’s redemption. Until then the only thing that can be done is to live that life that is pleasing and acceptable to Jehovah.

Revelation 22:10-12
And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

That’s it in a nutshell! We can take Hollywood’s depictions as entertainment, and NASA’s agenda as rebellion and sinful wishes of those who have hopes of escaping the judgment to come. But there is no escape and there is only one truth and that is His word which shall not return unto Him void.

Many Christians straddle the fence of science and the Bible. I can only apply this verse to those who sees a little of this and a little of that as being OK.

Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Beloved, we can’t have it both ways. The Bible already told us who the aliens are. They are the fallen angels and their master is Satan. He is the same one who was in heaven, in the Garden of Eden and was cast down to the earth.

Revelation 20:1-2
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

They are all one and the same.

Ezekiel 28:13-15
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

He has been around from the fourth day of creation when Jehovah made the stars also. This is before Jehovah made man. So, they know more than us and is using that knowledge against us.

Revelation 12:7-9
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

If you allow your mind to be idly entertained long enough you will believe any lie. It breaks my heart when I heard small children aspire to be astronauts because they think they are going somewhere. How many Christians are in the schools teaching our children that there is no Elohim? Yes, all of them who teach there is a heliocentric world where the sun and not the SON is the center of the universe. The Bible tells us that the planets are false gods.

2 Kings 23:5
And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

The word “host” is the Hebrew word “tsaba’” which means a mass of persons organized for war, army, host of angels. We see that the ancients were not worshiping things but some of the angelic host. They worshiped the created rather than the creator. Some of these angels made themselves appear as gods to men.

These host are all things that were worshipped and are still being worship in various forms. NASA has turned us to the flagrant worship of these things without us paying heed to the fact that these things were exalted as gods to the ancients. Science and physics have become the new gods.

The Hebrew word for planets is “mazzalah” which means signs of the zodiac. We use the signs of heaven to make personal readings out of them. Jehovah intended them to be a sign for His prophecies.

Consider that Jehovah tells us not to even say the names of the false gods, but we do it every day.

Exodus 23:12
And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Yet we ignorantly speak these names daily.

Sunday – Sun Day, the worship of the sun.
Monday – Moon’s day, the worship of the moon.
Tuesday - “Tyr’s Day”. Tyr is a Germanic-Norse god of war and sky.
Wednesday - “Woden’s Day” or “Odin’s Day”. Odin is the Nordic all-father god and master of the runes. Now depicted in Marvel’s comics as a superhero.
Thursday – “Thor’s Day”. Thor is the Nordic god of battle and strength. Again, depicted in Marvel’s comics as a superhero.
Friday - “Frigg’s Day”. Frigg was Odin’s wife and a fertility goddess. The name may also derive from “Frey’s Day” a god who could not battle in Ragnarok after the mortal Skirnir lost Frey’s sword. Marvel comics.
Saturday - “Saturn’s Day”. In Roman mythology Saturn is the father of the god Jupiter.

Isn’t this an interesting thing that we are all calling daily, weekly, annually the names of these gods. I wrote a commentary concerning the Gog and Magog and how these people polluted their DNA with angelic DNA, and they dwell in the north. The children of Japheth retreated to the north until their iniquity was full. Just as the Amorites were allowed to stay in the land until their iniquity was full as stated in Genesis 15:16. After Japheth’s descendants fully corrupted themselves then they descended bringing their gods with them. We adopted the names of their gods as the days of our weekdays.

Do we not see how Marvel comics is being used to put the names of these false gods in the mouths of our children? The false gods often change their names to fit the times or the language of the people. Praises, to the Most High Elohim, should come out of the mouths of our children not the names of false gods.

Consider the names of the planets:
MERCURY
Named for the winged Roman god of travel because it appears to move so swiftly.
VENUS
Roman name for the goddess of love. This planet was considered to be the brightest and most beautiful planet or star in the heavens.
MARS
Named by the Romans for their god of war because of its red, bloodlike color. Other civilizations also named this planet from this attribute; for example, the Egyptians named it “Her Desher,” meaning “the red one.”
JUPITER
The largest and most massive of the planets was named Zeus by the Greeks and Jupiter by the Romans; he was the most important deity in both pantheons.
SATURN
Saturn was the Roman name for the Greek Cronos, god of farming and the father of Zeus/Jupiter. Some of its satellites were named for Titans who, according to Greek mythology, were brothers and sisters of Saturn.
URANUS
Uranus was named for the Greek god of the sky.
NEPTUNE
Neptune, a blue planet, was named for the Roman god of the sea.
PLUTO
Pluto, the outermost planet in our solar system, was named after Roman god of the underworld, who was able to render himself invisible.

If you look up the meanings of the satellites for each planet you will see how deep this gets. These are the places NASA wants us to visit and relocate to rather than the earth that Jehovah made for His creatures. They really want us to descend into the habitations of the false gods.

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

And this is why NASA wants us to leave earth if we could, because Jehovah made it and they reject everything Jehovah has made. The earth is made to be inhabited by Jehovah’s creation. They deny the very existence of Elohim, there are fools.

It goes deeper than this. Just explore the meanings of many of the names of our cars, businesses, computer programs, superheroes, etc. The names of false gods have infiltrated all aspects of our daily lives. This is worth repeating:

Exodus 23:13
And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

This happens every day, every time you make an appointment, schedule a service, write a letter, send an email, text, file your taxes access legal documents etc., we can’t get away from it. We are all invoking the names of the false gods. Just imagine how many people and how many times a day we do this.

Now consider how often you hear or say the name of Jehovah or His Son Yeshua in any given day. We have been cornered into a place where we can’t seem to retreat from. The only way forward is through the valley of the shadow of death. But Jehovah is ever with us, His rod and His staff will comfort us.

The deception is deeper than we realize. There is no escape from all this but in the knowledge of Jehovah and all He has commanded us to do in His word. It is only the blood of Yeshua that can save us. Every bit of knowledge from the Bible will see us through. You must practice sifting everything you hear through His word. Ignorance is no excuse.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

How can we back away from the lies of this heliocentric doctrine about the earth? Put your trust in the SON not the sun. Question everything you have been taught in the Bible and in the world. The Bible says we come by faith and not by sight. So why do we live our lives by what we see or by what the scientist says? Why do we defend scientific theories which have not been proven? Why don’t we take Jehovah at His word whom we claim to have faith in?

We straddle the fence in every aspects of life, but we had better choose hot or cold. As long as we remain undecided, we will always be on our way to hell. At least picking a side you have a 50/50 chance of finding the truth. It is harder to coax someone off the fence. The fence is safe and comfortable. Who will give up that comfort in order to defend what they believe in?

Romans 14:11
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Choose before the decision is made for you because then you receive no credit for it. Which do you prefer, to willingly bow or to bow by decree?

Isaiah 46:9
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

So, it is Him and Him alone. We are His creation and we have no place else to go but here in this earth which He has made for us. Even though the waters of the flood rose above the highest mountain none could escape the earth. Even though the tower of Babel came almost to the door of heaven none could escape the earth. Jacob could not even climb that ladder to escape from the earth.

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Our judgment is here on the earth not in some far away universe solar light-years away. There is no escape.

Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Whatever good or bad we do to this earth there is no escaping it. We are here to stay and when this one has been destroyed a new one will take its place for everlasting to everlasting because the earth was made to be inhabited. We will live forever on the earth though that one will be a new earth. We cannot escape from the earth.

Dr. Helen Sharman the first British astronaut into space says, “without a doubt that “all sorts of forms of life” are alive in the universe – but perhaps we “simply can’t see them” as they are so different from humanity.”

1 Corinthians 15:40
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Go figure the intellect of men! All that knowledge and no discernment. They go to the doors of heaven they claim and can’t see anything. Yet Jacob (Genesis 28), Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1) and John (Revelation 4) all stood on the ground and looked right in.

The Four Corners of the Earth

I have heard many a preacher questioned the correctness of Jehovah’s word in things they have yet to understand. I have heard many spiritually dismiss scripture verses that does not fit into their scientific spectrum of how Jehovah created the world or how the science describes it. I don’t particularly have a heart for such people because rather than waiting for Jehovah to reveal His truth they opt to negate it.

Of recent times I heard a person trying to explain away a biblical text that states the earth have four corners (Revelation 7:1). Many have bought into, lock, stock and barrel, Copernicus’s heliocentric model of the earth. We have long dispensed with the ancient understanding that the earth is spread out and that a curtain, the firmament, is draped about it like a tent.

We now accept the notion that the earth is a ball spinning around a sun that according to Genesis 1:14 was not created until the 4th day of creation. How can that be possible that the earth being created on day three without a sun or moon or luminaries now must spin around something to support it from falling out of the heaven? So, what kept the earth standing still on the 3rd day? Would not Jehovah have had to create the sun first and then the earth so it can spin around it? Hahaha! We keep putting the cart before the horse. First the earth and then the sun and moon etc., so says the Bible Genesis 1:9-19.

We all believe that Jehovah created the world with wisdom so says Proverbs 8:22-30. We either believe or we keep making excuses and when we do, we are denying His power, wisdom and might. Belief in every word of Jehovah is just that, every word and not one jot or tittle less!

We keep taking Jehovah’s creation out of sequence. But Genesis 1:12-13 states, “And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.” In this text, on the 3rd day, we see that the earth brought forth grass, herb seeds, fruit trees exactly on the 3rd day and it was good. Remember, 1000 years is as a day in Jehovah’s time. The earth was created before the creation of tie which only occurred on the 4th day with the addition of the sun, moon and luminaries. Before that time did not exist because Jehovah dwells and created outside of time. Time was established for the inhabitants of the earth.

Not until Genesis 1:14 did the sun, moon and luminaries make their appearance in creation. This was the 4th day. The purpose of these things was clearly stated, for signs, seasons, days and years. They were put there to put the earth within a time and space system. The dry land that was created on the 3rd day. The cycle of life was set in motion with the sun and moon. Because of this the inhabitants of the earth will know the passing of time by the seasons, days and years due to the passing phases of the sun, moon and luminaries. The cycle of plant life will be a strong indicator as well for the animals and the humans who will dwell in it.

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

As the plant and vegetated life goes through its growing cycle due to the passing phases of the sun moon and luminaries, each added life form will have an indication of how to prepare from season to season. Thus, we know when to till the ground, plant our seeds, and reap our harvest to get us through winter or scarcity.

The seasons of winter, spring, summer and fall will make the stages of growth, harvest and dormancy visible to all. Thus, the inset of the sun, moon and luminaries. Now we can gauge on the earth the passing of days (sun), weeks and months (moon), and decades, centuries, and millennium (luminaries/constellations).

Genesis 1:14 tells us that these objects are for signs, seasons, days and years. By studying the luminaries, the wise-men were able to discern the time of the birth of the Messiah. It is because of the cycle of the moon that we know when a new month has begun, and we begin to count the days of the month, so we know when the feast days of Jehovah is. We no longer use the moon to pronounce the first day of the month we use a corrupted solar calendar.

We simply have to stop dismissing what we can’t understand and wait until the season of revelation which only comes in Jehovah’s appointed time. Scripture will always interpret scripture and absolute faith in Jehovah will always lead you to the truth. We will apply this method to understand the topic of this commentary.

I will take a look at three verses to consider the understanding of the term “four corners of the earth” as mentioned in the Bible. We will look in the Old Testament and New Testament for the two or three witnesses that the Bible clearly states a thing shall be established by. We will find that two to three witnesses are more than asked for. We will find that the Old Testament prophet Isaiah is one witness, the Apostle Peter of the New Testament Church is another witness and we will look at John the revelator who penned the book of Revelation as being the 3rd witness. I am not saying that there are only these three witnesses to this commentary’s topic, but we will try to be a bit short here and use these three. If you have studied other commentaries by this student of the Bible you will be able to gather many other substantiating witnesses. Let’s take a further look at how the Bible interprets itself.

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

We read in this text that Jehovah, whom we believe created the earth, sits upon the its circle. So, the Bible establishes the shape of the earth. We understand that it is the earth which we inhabit and not some other place. It states here clearly that from where Jehovah sits upon the circle, on top of the earth, He see us, the inhabitants, as grasshoppers. Imagine flying around in an airplane and looking down from above, surely, we can all attest that the inhabitants below us look like the size of grasshoppers or ants depending on from how far up you are flying.

In other commentaries I cited Ezekiel’s view of heaven from on the earth in Ezekiel 1, Jacob’s vision of the ladder reaching up to heaven in Genesis 28, Ezekiel being seen entering heaven in a chariot of fire noted in 2 kings 2, David’s view of the angel between heaven and earth noted in 1 Chronicles 21, the tower of Babel and how its height whose top might reach into heaven if they were allowed to continue in Genesis 11, when John looked up into heaven and saw Jehovah on His throne surrounded by twenty-four elders in Revelation 4, and in Acts 1:9 when the disciples saw Yeshua taken up into heaven. I have established here more than three witnesses of heaven being directly above the earth. Who do we believe as Christians, NASA or the Word of Jehovah?

The Bible establishes the shape of the earth. It is a flat circle, covered with a tent like curtain above which the Bible calls the firmament.

The Bible also makes a bold statement about the earth having four (4) corners. Those who now subscribes to the earth being a ball will most definitely have a problem with any scripture verse that makes this declaration. They will commence to negating the very word of Jehovah based on NASA (New Age Satanic Agenda) version of how the earth is structured.

If you read carefully in Genesis 1 the story of creation you cannot miss the picture of the earth and the firmament and sea that is above draped over the earth. We need to stop reading into the Bible what we have been foolishly taught. We need to think for ourselves what we are reading. These cookie cutter seminary graduates are leading many to hell in ignorance. When the truth finally comes to light no one want to believe it because they feel betrayed. Most betray their own selves because they failed to open the book. They relied on the unschooled or the over-schooled to know what to believe. The same Holy Spirit that Yeshua sent after Him is available to all and there is no partiality. STOP saying you don’t understand and ask for understanding. STOP putting your faith in the hands of others and put it in Jehovah and His Son! Sorry! I digress again as usual!

They will also dispute the four pillars of the earth as noted in the Bible in Job 9:6, Psalm 75:3 and 1 Samuel 2:8 that is established in the Bible by three witnesses: Job, David and Samuel; a commoner, a king and a prophet.

How do we reconcile the word of Jehovah to His truth as stated in the Bible? For one, we either serve one master and leave off the other master, NASA, because we can’t serve both or believe both. Everything in Jehovah’s time so be patient!

I was watching a cooking video out of the blue just because it just popped in my mind to look something up. As I was watching this cooking video of a Kenyan making a pastry called mandazi she made a statement that just lit up my mind. Yes, the revelation came out of Africa! She made her dough and rolled it into a circle then she cut the dough in four quadrants and she said, “Separate the dough at the four corners,” and there the imagine was fixed in my mind. I got it so clearly. How can you get four corners out of a circle? Cut it in 4 quarters! There, the inside intersecting corners are indeed 4 corners. Once you divide those four pieces you have four corners within the circle. Needless to say, I jumped up and grabbed a map and my Bible and began to search the scriptures. We think like humans from a horizontal view not like Jehovah who sits at the top of the circle of the earth looking down. From where He sits, He sees the four corners of the earth because He sits directly above the earth, dead center. Immediately Peter’s vision flashed into my mind.

Acts 10:11-16, see also Acts 11:5
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

That great sheet folded at the four corners! Bring in the four corners to the center and there you have within, four corners meeting in the center, a four-way intersection point. Yes, the Bible interprets itself. Peter’s vision is truly the key that unfolds the knowledge that the earth has four corners. So, the realization of what this text means again flashed in my mind. Oh, I wish I had artistic abilities to draw what I see. I went searching the internet for a picture that can show what has been revealed to me but lo, what I want is not there to be found. So, I have to rely on these inserted images.

Consider that Peter’s vison was not about food and what we can eat but rather about the Gentiles coming to faith. Unfortunately, too many preachers are still teaching this untruth telling people they can indulge in whatever they want to eat because all is acceptable to Jehovah. When in truth Jehovah was telling Peter that all men will be accepted in grace through the blood of Yeshua. Continue to read all of Acts 10 and 11 and you will see clearly this truth. Just like Yeshua told the parable of the sower and the seed and then He went on to declare that the seed is the word of Jehovah. In Peter’s vision the unclean food is the Gentiles and the clean is Israel. Through Yeshua, all come to salvation and Jehovah is no respecter of the persons coming whether Jew or Gentile!

When I grasp Peter’s vison connection, I immediately I went straight away to Isaiah 11 which speaks to Israel being gathered for the second time from “the four corners of the earth.” There it was as clear as crystal!

Isaiah 11:11-12
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Take a flat map, for crying out loud you know you can’t fold up a globe. If you fold in the four corners of a map you will see where the four corners intercept. The places where the map of the earth will fold in on and intercept directly converges on these nations mentioned in Isaiah 11:11. Israel, the Land being the direct center and the places cited in Isaiah 11:11 all are included in that four corner region: Assyria, Egypt, Pathos, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath and those island that are in that area of the sea which is located within those four corners. Remember the list above of the ancient empires: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome., these all had their epicenter in this four-corner region.

If you are above looking down and you were to take the outer reaches of the earth and fold it into itself, you would arrive at a meeting point in Israel. How do I come to that conclusion? Where was Peter when he had the vision of the sheet upon the roof top? Israel! Where are the nations that took Israel captive? Assyria and Babylon and their epicenters were both located within the four corners of the earth. The names of all the places listed in Isaiah 11:11 are all located withing the four corners.

Folks, we keep on studying until the truth becomes clearer and clearer. Remember, we see in a glass darkly. Every time the truth is revealed like a flood just keep pushing away the old notions until eventually truth alone will be established. If you don’t keep pushing away the old debris it will keep falling back into the mix.

How can I come to such a conclusion of the earth being folded in on itself? Again, scripture interprets scripture. Again, we have to look to scripture! Isaiah 34:4 and Revelation 6:14 both tells us that the sky will be rolled up like a scroll.

Isaiah 34:4
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Revelation 6:14
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

There we are, the Bible interprets itself! The sky will be rolled back like a scroll. That is a picture of the firmament being removed as noted in Revelation 21:23, there will be no more sun or moon. How then can the earth be restored new if the sun is removed. What will it revolve around? Hahaha!

Here we have two witnesses, Isaiah the prophet from the Old Testament and John the prophet from the New Testament declaring the rolling back of the sky. This is the image of something being rolled up. We also have the text in Genesis 10:25 and 32 that declares how the earth was divided up into nations. This is not only a separation by language but also the shifting of the earth’s land mass into various continents and islands. It is one thing to confound the common language of the people into many diverse languages and another to keep them all together in one spot. Imagine how it is already with people of various languages and cultures warring against each other for lack of understanding one another. Jehovah was wise to divide the earth and shift the inhabitants to regions far from each other.

I noted in many of the commentaries I have published that true Israel is not from the descendants of Japheth but are from the descendants of Shem from the seed of Abraham. They are Semitic people, brown and black not white blond hair, blue eyes descendants of Japheth. You only need to study the people’s groups of the nations noted in Isaiah 11 to see that the remnant of Israel will come from these darker races of people.

For those of you reading this commentary publication for the first time you will have to read Genesis 9:27 to note that Noah prophesied that one day Japheth’s descendants will dwell in the tents of Shem perpetrating themselves as true Israelites, but they who claim to be Jews are not, see Revelation 4:9. Once we follow the trail the Bible gives us concerning the descendants of Japheth we will see how they have now ended up in the land. Read Genesis 10:2-5 and discover there Ashkenaz, in 1 Chronicles 1:5-7 and Jeremiah 51:27-29. This is why when we come to the Biblical names, we should not overlook them for lack of correct pronunciation. If you fail to follow the threads the Bible leaves for us to follow, we will end up with unsound doctrines. Those that dwell in the land are not true bloodline Israelites. These are converted descendants of Japheth.

Previous commentaries cover this topic extensively.

I do try to include all text because I know that many people subscribed after the publication of many previous commentaries that would enlighten them. This is truly time consuming, but I try not to allude to something and not include it. Read Esther 8:17 and 9:27 concerning the extensiveness of those Gentiles who converted to Judaism to save their lives. Read Jeremiah chapters 32 and 33 and Isaiah 11 which paints a clear picture of what Israel will look like when she is gathered back into the land. Surely these current occupants of the land do not depict this picture as noted in the Bible. True Israel will have a king when she is gathered in, she will not be a democracy or republic of any sort. Israel will dwell in peace and safety. The evidence of what we see now in the land is not Jehovah’s picture of Israel’s ingathering.

Now, let us conclude this commentary.

Revelation 7:1
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

The Bible declares that at the four corners of the earth there will be four angels who will hold the four winds of the earth preventing them from blowing on the earth. If you can imagine the four corners intersecting at a point where the four prevailing winds meet, then we can see the reality of this verse coming to pass. Just consider how many things occur in the east.

This four-corner area is where most of the inhabitants of the world live, though poor, meek and humble. It is also the place where the twelve tribes of Israel were scattered and the place where the epicenter of each of the ancient empires existed. I’ve noted in a previous commentary that in this area not only do we see many disasters occurring, but we also see that it is in this area that life begins again and again.

This four-corner area is the heart of creation and civilization. Every known superpower in the world has been vying for this area as long as they have been wars. Take a look at the ancient maps of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. All these nations have had their dirty hands in the same pot in the exact same four-corners of the earth. The biblical four-corners of the earth is a real place, and Jehovah sitting upon His throne above the circle of the earth can see exactly there. And He will judge all those that have trampled His cornerstone.

As we read biblical end time prophecies, we are constantly pointed to the ancient empires to whom judgment will befall because they will rise again. Although these empires have fallen, they have not expired as nations. Many have been subdivided into smaller nations but with the same root. They might be a fraction of themselves, but they will rise again to receive their share of the judgment to come as pronounced in the Bible.

Descendants of these ancient nations have been vying to hold on to their roots, their names and their wealth. They continue to rule both in public and in secret to regain their foothold in their ancient lands. The Bible states that the devil know his time is limited and is seeking for all those he can take with him. They all know they time is limited, and they all know what is coming but they want to put up a defense even though they know they will lose.

Let’s look to others for this answer. (See Job) A good read of the book of Job will reveal all the things scientists are trying to claim they have discovered. But Job has recorded all things science about the paths of the sky, sea, clouds, dew, rain, snow, wind constellations and so much more. It has been there all this time. We allow men to take credit for what Jehovah has long ago revealed. The 3rd commandment, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD they God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Every time someone takes credit for what Jehovah has done; he is taking His name in vain.

Imagine the earth folded in as a sheet and the four corners meeting, that would definitely pull all the prevailing winds to the four corners of the earth. See Job 28:25, Jeremiah 49:36, Ezekiel 37:9 consider these words carefully as it speaks of Israel rising from its dry bones, Daniel 7:2, Daniel 11:4, Zachariah 2:6, and such verses should not be dismissed as just a figure of speech.

We are not looking outside the Bible for truth we are looking inside the Bible.

If, however you have a desire to explore wherever and whatever you will find whatever answer pleases you if you look hard and long enough. There are simply times when we must be still and know that He is Jehovah. Wait on His for the crucial answers.

-- 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. --

What is Meant by “The Last Trump”

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The Greek word for “last” is “nekros” which meaning is corpse; dead, one that has breathed his last, lifeless, deceased, departed, destitute of life, without life, etc.

The word “trump” in this text is the Greek word “salpinx” which is the idea of quavering or reverberation, a vibration. It does not mean an instrument but the sound that an instrument might make, that vibration. It can also be a metaphor like “The shot heard around the world.”

After the colon punctuation mark, the text states “for the trumpet shall sound,” but the word that is in the Greek is the word “sound” which is “salpizo, to trumpet, sound a blast, a sound. Again, this is not the instrument but the sound that would come from such an instrument, or what we might call sound waves.

The Greek for sound is also “phone” and the word for trumpet proper is “salpizo” but it is the idea of quavering or reverberation, the sound a trumpet would make. There is also another word for “sound” in Greek, “echos” a roar, this is found in Acts 2:2 “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind…” This sound is a roaring noise that was heard on the day of Pentecost. There is also the Greek word “phthongos” which means utterance, a musical note whether vocal or instrumental from the root “phthengomai” meaning to utter a clear sound, to give out a sound, noise or cry.

We have to look at all these meaning to discern what the text in 1 Corinthians 15:52 is speaking about. We also have to know what the word means, and we also have to know what it does not mean.

Let’s put these two words together “last trump” the way the text states it, the meaning of the first word and the meaning of the second word, “last trump.” Let’s keep in mind that a colon separates two independent clauses which means the second clause explains or illustrates the first.

Thus, we have the first clause concerning the “last trump” (nekros a corpse, salpinx a reverberation) which is interpreted as, the dead corpse, lifeless body will reverberate, cause a quivering. Whose lifeless body? I believe it is significant to note that these two words might very well reflect someone of prominence to the history of humanity as we note what is stated in the second clause after the colon. “: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” After the last trump, the death of someone significant will have a reverberating impact on the inhabitants of the earth, then, there will be this element of shock (salpizo), reverberating around the earth after the announcement of the death of that person.

Here is a declaration made by Yeshua concerning His second coming in Matthew 24:26-28, “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

The warning is against following false messiahs which the Bible clearly states there will be many. But we know in the days of tribulation there will be one who will arise and take that final title, the anti-Christ of Satan. So, we are warned not to follow after the false messiahs. We are told from what direction to look for the Savior’s return, from the east where the sun rise, thus will the Son return shining even unto the west. Even if they say he is in a secret place don’t believe it because Deuteronomy 29:29 tells us that the revealed things belong unto us. If the Bible forbids private interpretations of the word, then we should be sure that there will be no secret in Yeshua’s return – all will know, and every knee will bow. A carcass is a lifeless body, a dead corpse and we know that this does not pertain to Yeshua for He is alive. Let’s consider the gathering of the eagles, the text indicates something that will draw people to band together or specifically in an act of paying tribute in the form of entertainment or let’s say a celebratory event to acknowledge the life of the deceased corpse.

The devil can only imitate Jehovah and poorly so. Jehovah sends back His living Messiah and the devil is left with only a carcass of his anti-Christ. They the eagles, those looking to it will continue to follow. We see this happening always in our history, we try to make gods of people who do not stand up to the test of Jehovah – a man or woman after His own heart. They achieve their personal best because they are self-driven, they accomplish much but yet their lives are not a testimony to Jehovah. It is to their own but to self-accomplishments.

Kobe Bryant was just killed in a helicopter accident and that news sent shock waves throughout the nations. Everyone was in shock! It was a great shocker because he was so young and so accomplished. Who was not shocked by the news? He made an impact on many in his game of basketball and later in the movie industry. But how many lives were converted to Messiah. Now we have many young boys and girl strive for athletic prowess. The self has now been glorified.

Let’s translate this into Mr. Trump which I have stated in a past commentary that I believe he might very well “the last trump” the text is speaking about. It could possibly be Donald or one of his sons or his last son Barron. Depends on how you interpret “last trump.” We already see this Donald Trump is attempting to build him a dynasty or derail the government of the USA.

We also know that the world is in an uproar because of him. He has flouted the constitution of this nation time and time again. He has derailed the global economy and the send our allies into a tailspin. And it would seem that with all the influential people in this world no one can do a thing about him.

Romans 9:17-18
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

Clearly, this is a depiction of POTUS. His heart like pharaoh’s is hardened. He will not surrender his records of any sort. He too makes promises and then back out of them. Remember what the Bible states, “there are many anti-Christ. He might be just another one or the one that leads to the last one that will outright oppose Jehovah’s Messiah.

Just look at how many so-called Christian leaders and pastors are rallying to him. They call him god’s man in power. (NOTE: I used a lowercase “g” in god’s because I have no doubt their God is not Jehovah. Jehovah chose David because David was a man after His own heart, righteous and able to come with a sincere broken and contrite heart when confronted with his sin. ON the other hand, Donald Trump lies and makes excuses and blames others. How can Christians rally around this man declaring him to be Jehovah’s man when he does not come close to exemplifying anything that pleases Jehovah? Saul was OK with Jehovah until he out-rightly disobeyed offering as a king, sacrifices in a role only the priest should do. The kingdom was ripped from him. The Bible is clear in the books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles that Jehovah only support those righteous kings. When they served Him with all of their heart Jehovah fought their battles but otherwise, they were forsaken and eventually because of them they were scattered out of the land.

Now compare Trump to those kings and consider where he might stand among the kings of Israel and Judah! Is he righteous or unrighteous? What might the results of his leader bring?

I say, with the death of Trump whether it is Donald or one of his sons, the news will reverberate throughout the nations. That will be the sign to us that Yeshua is returning. The second clause explains what will happen when that occurs - at the last trump, “…and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” This is the final curtain call! This is the sound that will usher in the Messiah.

On the other hand, we can take this all the way through to the tribulation and when we see the dead corpse of those two witnesses, the news will be reverberated and reaching heaven, then the Messiah is dispatched to return. But the text in Revelation does not state this. Also, the text does not say trumps as in plural but rather only a single trump which represents a single death. Revelation 11 and 12 indicates that this event, death of the two witnesses, will occur in the first half of the tribulation.

Revelation 13 tells us about the beast that was wounded to death, but the wound was healed. Yet in this event we see that it is still midway through the tribulation. We continue to read in Revelation 13 how life was restored to the anti-Christ, that first beast, and how many will bow to it and worship it. Revelation 13:16, “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”

Seven years is really not a long time and we do not know exactly what form the anti-Christ or the false prophet will take. What we do know is that there will be someone of significance who will die, and their death will usher in the coming of the Messiah who will raise the dead from corruptible to incorruptible.

We can surmise from these texts that the powers that will be shall compel many to worship. Yes, many political and religious leaders will follow the anti-Christ and lead many astray. Woe unto those that are politicians and religious leaders in those days. Even in these days many Christian leaders are leading many astray even to the point of outright discrimination and racism.

Psalms 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

May this be the mantra of those that are truly for Jehovah and His Messiah even now and when that time of tribulation shall come. We have to keep on searching the scriptures until we come to the truth. It will be too late if we wait until then to seek the truth.

Amos :11-12
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

The last trump is not actually trumpet blast but the death of someone so significant that the news will reverberate throughout the nations.

Today we are reading so many diluted translations of the Bible that many are far off the track of truth. What can be said except if you want to deceive a generation you have to begin bit by bit, not all at once. You have to carry out a smear campaign to the level so that what we have been handed down cannot be trusted. You cannot allow the truth to be recognizable. We have allowed the language of the original scriptures to be diluted to the point where we no longer understand its original meaning.

My eldest grandson saw one of his grandfathers with a flip phone some years ago and said, “Papa, what is that?” The cellphone had been upgraded so many times over the years that the antiquated flip phone was unrecognizable to my grandson. The Bible is becoming like the cellphones with the many upgrades - unrecognizable. Funny thing about the upgrades, they no longer support old apps, and you need to get a new charger, new case, knew constant updates for it to function. So, it is with Christians today, you can’t just talk shop you have to first convince the believer that the Bible is true and can be trusted.

This should never be the case with the scriptures. Take for example a glass of saltwater. If you keep adding more and more water the water will eventually lose its saltiness.

With this commentary, I do pray that we will all continue to search the scriptures diligently and with great care to see what will be. I love this verse!

1 Chronicles 12:32
And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

How can you have understanding without searching the scriptures?

Consider the deeper meanings of scriptures that we don’t yet see. How Yeshua states the meek shall inherit the earth. But what of the righteous inheriting the earth? Does not the Bible state that only those whose names are written in the lamb’s book of life will dwell forever in the new heaven and the new earth for all eternity. So how or when does the meek inherit the earth? Is Yeshua implying that all true saints are meek? I don’t believe this is the case. I believe that those masses of people on the earth who are never given a chance to flourish, will have their chance when all the evil ones are taken out. Remember not all will perish in the tribulation. Many will remain, but we know that many or all of the unrighteous will perish.

Concerning the Christian those that are dead and those that are alive when Messiah returns will be changed and be with Him in the millennium kingdom.

Revelation 20: 4-6
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

YES! There shall be peace on earth and good will toward men!

The world is filled with all manner of influencers in every aspect of society. The internet have given rise to thousands of influencers, YouTube has given rise to influencers, podcast, authors, movie stars and super athletes, the music industry in all its genres have given rise, science, the medical profession, TV and radio personalities, talk show host, sports channel influencers, the award shows and reality TV, Netflix and HBO, ShowTime influencers, every industry has a great influencer, politics of the day, political and social movements of the day, these are all influencers of what people believe is true, have desires to pursue and develop ambitions to acquire the American or wealth dream. The aspirations of the young and old are being influenced by celebrities from every avenue of desire.

These are people we elevate in the world, but if you take time to scan the news every day you will find them falling from grace, dying before their time, falling from the sky, death by disease, by drugs, by violence, the young and the old alike who have such great pull in the public’s eye. The ideas of a few are being catapult instantly and they are reaping the fame and monetary rewards that goes along with fame. These influencers are selling someone’s product, they are deciding for the majority of the people who can’t think for themselves how to dress, what makeup to wear and how much, what products to buy and where to travel to for the best pic. Instant fame and what are these people spreading?

Clearly it is not the good news of the gospel. How many athletes have we called demi-gods? We give them the glory for having outstanding talents. Many will say they have a God given talent, but they don’t give Him the glory, they don’t preach His gospel, they don’t use they wealth to save the world, they only promote their name or their brand but what of Jehovah’s brand – Yeshua!

The last trump could also be the death of the last of the influencers worldwide. Consider that the king and queen of pop or blues are dead, the king of soul and even the Prince, Tupac has died and remember how the news of their passing spread and reverberated. Some calls Tupac a prophet. Still others call the worst influencers of the world great leaders, trend setters and the likes. But who exalts Jehovah and influences their followers to follow His Messiah?

Consider the news how fast it spreads when some star falls from the grace or to their death. The earth mourns and cries how quick and young they are fallen or taken. But what is their true mark on the earth. Everyone wants to aspire to be them, they want shoes designed in their image, makeup products that will transform them into their idols, clothes that will elevate them in material status, they want to emulate the rich, the glamourous even if they can’t afford their products.

Consider that the meaning of the last trump, the last great influencer of the world will meet death in a very public way. Consider how those from the palace are losing face publicly, falling from grace. They die a social death, shoved into obscurity. Consider how the wealthiest are dying no different from the poorest of societies. The influencers are looking to make their mark on that one idea that will catapult poor deceivable, weak minds into doing things they would not under normal circumstance do.

Look at those that have shaped our world in the last few decades like Oprah Winfrey who thinks she is above morals, shacking up with a man all her life. She is one of those that is making marriage, a thing instituted by Jehovah as obsolete, and consider all the other celebrities that live similar lifestyles. Consider those in the music industry who encourage young innocent groupies to fall under their spell and provide physical comforts to them and then they toss them aside. Consider a once homeless wannabe like Tyler Perry who struggled to make it in Hollywood, he now lives that same lifestyle of Oprah, shacking up with his baby momma. But he used to promote Yeshua now that he is in the money and an influencer look at the type of movies he is producing.

Consider those influencers of the Christian music genre and well-known TV evangelist how they started with the ambition of exalting the name of Yeshua but have led so many astray building their own brand and wealth. How have they shared their wealth? Have their used it to give back on Sunday mornings to their congregants who are less fortunate? How many Christian politicians started out with great hopes of changing the world and lo and behold they cast their vote to legalize gay rights, marijuana, abortion, and all the other immoral things the constitution of the USA was set in place to prevent.

The last trump, the last influencer of human degradation, the last TV mogul, the last great politician, the last great TV evangelist, the last great music star, the last great icon of social media, when they die and their dead corpse is laid out for the world to see then the end shall come – who will it be?

The meek shall inherit the earth after the last influencer of evil has died. Yeshua will return and the dead in Him shall rise first and then those that are His that remain alive at His coming shall all meet Him in the air. They shall be changed from corruptible to incorruptible and then they all will return to the earth with Yeshua at the helm. He will be the king of kings on the earth and he shall rule and reign. The meek that inherit the earth during His millennium reign will finally have the chance to live in peace, so says Isaiah 11. Yeshua will reign with equality and justice for all.

What a great responsibility we have to the world when we have arrived somewhere in life to make a difference. But the influencers are only concerned with filling their portfolio not filling the mouth of those that are hungry and hurting.

Consider the age of many YouTube’s influencers. Some are not yet in their teens and they have amassed wealth from those they influence. They are promoting toys with the name of demi-gods, the fallen angels, they are promoting candy that in adulthood will cause many to develop diabetes, they are promoting clothes that are too expensive for parents to buy, clothes that are sensually provocative for young children. They are sending the message to children that they can get rich quick with one good idea, but these child influencers are quickly going the same route as their adult counterparts. They meet death at an early age, and they fall from grace much earlier.

Whether the last trump is Donald Trump or one of his sons or a worldwide charismatic personality, when that one meets death, Yeshua will return. I once heard a pastor in Singapore make the claim that when the last holocaust survivor dies the Messiah will return. I also heard another pastor make the claim that when Billy Graham dies the Messiah will return. Sorry, I don’t think so! They are all looking for their brand, their sounding board, their kind of influence!

With the presence of every new influencer their superstardom becomes more and more impactful. Many young boys and girls are looking to make it big where only 1% of them can make it into professional sports. Look how many made it and got cut and then we read how early their died or the tragic life that follows their brief career. They aspire to superstardom without morals, wisdom, education, proper parental guidance, mentoring, parents allowing them to come from under their guidance and given into the hands of coaches, doctors and institutions.

What can I say to this issue that has not been already stated? If we are not promoting the name of Jehovah and His Son, Yeshua, then we have done all things in vain. The wealth acquired is not used to help the most unfortunate or even those that helped promote their fame, it is wasted on mansions, cars, drugs and alcohol, immoral lifestyles and all things luxurious. We are even greater fools when we turn on the TV or look to the YouTube channels to admire their rich and lofty lifestyles while we continue to struggle to meet our day-to-day needs. The poor struggling onlookers spends billions on hair, nails, clothes and make-up to give one the appearance of wealth and status while they remain poor.

How many poor people do you know who wears Armani, Jordans while Mike Jordan is playing golf with other influencers. Imagine how many feet Jordan and his millions or billions can cover in poor villages around the earth without making a dent in his portfolio. Why am I speaking of the people of color who made it, it is because we are the poorest of the poor, the least to catch a break and the last to become influencers. But how do we turn around and mention major social issues or injustices and do nothing about it like T.D. Jakes and many other.

Every race must answer for its own. So, go figure that the wealth of our Anglo race has long surpassed that of people of color for centuries – to whom much was given, or should I call it as it is, to whom much was forcibly taken, much more is required.

Consider the raping and pillages of continents, the colonization and destruction of many ancient societies and nations just so their natural resources could be plundered. Consider the Native North and South Americans, Africans, Australian Aborigines, Hawaiians, and other such cultures that have been decimated for its wealth.

Wealth comes with great obligation and responsibility. It is not meant to be hoarded. Consider what the Bible says about Job, a man of great wealth, and how he took care of the poor. The principle here is, the more you give the more you receive. That’s Jehovah law of increase and not this rubbish the TV evangelist and prosperity preachers are spewing out. They want you to give but they are not giving back. They have mansions in many countries, jets that they use to take them away from you to go to places you will never see because you are too poor giving to the rich.

The lack of knowledge is making Christians foolish. The Bible clearly states that the tithe is food not money. Go back and read those text carefully. Previous commentaries expounded on this topic. The tithe is so that there is meat/food in the house of Jehovah so the poor and homeless can eat. It was also meant for the priest and their families but today the pastors are earning a salary and they is no more parsonage, so they are given a salary to meet that need including medical insurance and a pension.

The offering is money given to build debt free those places set up in the name of Jehovah. Those places with His name on it should never be indebted. He who has cattle on a thousand hills and all the gold, and all the silver is His, how can a place dedicated to Him be mortgaged. The Christian influencers have led many astray just so they can line their own pockets at the expense of Jehovah’s grace and the poor. Do we really need another building that remains empty of congregants Sunday after Sunday? Everybody is called by Jehovah they claim to spread their own type of the gospel. Yet people are running in and out, church hopping hoping to hear a word from Jehovah, but they leave disappointed. Where is the anointing?

The death of one will usher in the return of Messiah – the anti-Christ, the false prophet, a political leader, a religious leader? Who will it be? That last great influencer will lead many astray, but it begins with all these who think themselves as demi-gods influencing the world with their own brand of influence to immorality. And that is where it usually ends. With power comes the greater desire to acquire more power as with wealth comes the desire to acquire more wealth. Both power and great wealth corrupts absolutely.

No one is above Jehovah’s moral laws. The more wealth and influence you have the greater the chances you will fall from grace. May Jehovah give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding!

Just imagine, according to society at large, everybody gets to go to heaven and be angels just because they were popular. Only if it was that easy!

I don’t know what you are looking for when Messiah returns but I know what I am looking for. “Peace on earth and good will toward men,” all men. Isaiah 11 tells us how He will reign.

Isaiah 11:1-10
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

This is what we shall expect after the last trump! Whatever the last trump is this is what we should expect. The one glorious thing about knowing the truth is that you finally know what to set your hopes on. There is peace in knowing the truth so no matter what happens your heart is firmly fixed on the prize.

The greatest treasure is peace on earth!

Understanding Time In The Bible

Genesis 3:17 states, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” We simply do not know how old the earth is. But from this verse in Genesis 2 we can conclude that the earth could be as old as millions or billions of years old. We do know that it took Jehovah 6 day to create the earth and that that dwells in it. We also conclude based on scripture interpreting scripture that one day is as a thousand years to Jehovah thus each day of creation would be 1000 years interval.

To say that Jehovah rested 100 years is not a stretch of the imagine based on His eternal existence and based on scripture we can see that this amount of time has significant meaning and purpose.

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalms 90:4
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Revelation 20:7
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Revelation 20:5
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

These verses show the significance of a thousand-year span of time in the Bible. For the earth to take this amount of time at its stages of creation to form is not a stretch of science or the imagination knowing our Elohim is eternal.

How can we conclude that the earth could be millions or billions of years old? The verse states, “in the day” but it does not say which day. If I were to say to someone, “In the year you visit me I will we will go to the Grand Canyon,” does not state which year. It merely states that in the year you visit me and that could be a year from when it was said or 30 or 40 years until the person actually comes to visit. This is the same with Adam. Jehovah told Adam that in that day that he eats from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he shall die.

Knowing that the Bible clearly states that 1000 years is as a day to Jehovah, we can conclude that Adam could have live for even millions of years in the Garden of Eden before he ate of the fruit. It was not until in that day, a specific day in Jehovah’s time, when it did happen - with in one of Jehovah’s 1000-year day, Adam ate of the tree. And in that one day of Jehovah’s time Adam did not live out that 1000 year day. He died in the 930 years of that 1000 year day. Adam and Eve were distraught because having been so long in the Garden and then to be put out was truly heart-wrenching. Scripture interprets scripture.

Daniel 9:23-24
v.23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
The word “consider” is the Hebrew word “biyn” which means to separate mentally or distinguish, understand, be cunning, diligent, discern, think etc. In other words, Jehovah wants us to ponder these words, to search diligently for the truth or the deeper meaning. He wants us to know the truth, but it takes our own effort. He who sows reaps the harvest. Jehovah wants us to sow our time into His word so we will reap the truth.

v.24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

How do we determine what 70 weeks are? Is it 470 days which is about 16 plus month of time or does it mean seventy weeks of years? A biblical week of years is a 7-year period thus, 7 years of time X 70 weeks is 490 years? How can we be sure it is 490 years?

I said before that scripture interprets scripture.

Leviticus 25:8
And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

There we are, scripture interprets scripture, so we can rightly divide the word of truth. 70 weeks is 490 years.

Still scripture interprets scripture. From the time the prophecy is given until it is fulfilled, we must look to other scriptures to rightly divide the word of truth.

Ezekiel 4:3-6
Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

390 days for Israel, 40 days for Judah and each day represents a year: 390+40=430. From the rebuilding of the temple to the coming of Messiah is 490 years. From Ezekiel’s text we are short by 60 years which is threescore years. We know from Ezra 4:1-5,21 that the work on the rebuilding of the temple was delayed for 17 years due to the hostility of the Samaritans and then when it began again it was another 4 years as noted in Ezra 5:1-2; 6:16. This accounts for 21 years, thus we have 430+21=451 years. So, we are short by 39 years in this calculation as to what happened in this time. I need more dividing of the truth. We do know that this is not just about the sacking of Jerusalem by the Babylonians because the days in Ezekiel 4:6 text states “I have appointed thee each day for a year.” Jerusalem was not under siege for 430 years.

*** Cyrus was born B.C. 599 and became king in B.C. 559. Isaiah prophesied about Cyrus 100 years before his birth in Isaiah 44:28 – 45:1. From the time Cyrus was born until he became king was another 39 years just about.

Isaiah 44:28 – 45:1
That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

The prophecy was made about 100 to 143 years earlier thus it would behoove us that from Cyrus’s birth to becoming king would not be included in the 490 years. Ezra 1:1-2 states, “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.”

How do we come to this conclusion that the calendar includes from the time of Cyrus’ birth? Again scripture interprets scripture. Jeremiah 1:5 states, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Is it not this same Jeremiah that prophesied about the captivity of Judah ending in 70 years as recorded in Jeremiah 25:12-12? The same prophet that Jehovah knew before he was formed in his mother’s belly, Jeremiah, speaks also of this same king. The same king Isaiah prophesied about before Jeremiah was formed in his mother’s belly. Scripture interprets scripture. I don’t think I am reaching for straws here. 451 years plus 39 more years equals 490 years.

Daniel 9:25 states, “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

We can apply this reasoning to this verse as well. 7 weeks would be 49 years as Leviticus 25:8 demonstrates. Threescore is 60 years as a score is 20 years thus: 3X20=60. And 2 more weeks would be 14 years: 2x7=14. Thus, we have a total of 123 years. 49+60+14=123 years of time. From the time of the commandment to rebuild the temple unto the coming of Messiah is 123 years from that time. Which temple is the Bible speaking about? The one that was rebuilt after the 70 years captivity? We know Messiah came the first time after the temple was rebuilt in 490 years. Thus, could this text be speaking about Messiah’s second coming?

Daniel 9:2 states clearly, “I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, where of the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet….” This is not a word that came directly to Daniel by the voice of Jehovah or His messengers, but a word that Daniel came to understand by studying Jeremiah’s words. Thus, we conclude that Daniel did his most diligence in studying and calculating the time based on the words of another prophet. HINT: Should we not be doing the same? What did Daniel do next? “And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession…,” (Daniel 9:3-4a). Daniel prayed for further enlightenment based on his conclusions.

I submit that Daniel’s revelation concerning the 123 years to the coming of Messiah has everything to do with his second coming. Note the words of the angel Gabriel: Daniel 9:21-27 “Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

If we read these words within the context of the end time based on what Yeshua said in Matthew 24 and what John said in Revelation, we will see the truth of the time Daniel is being enlightened about. Let’s take it step by step. Note the underlined text above. This is about bringing in “everlasting righteousness so we know it is not after Yeshua’s first coming. We are far from living in a state of everlasting righteousness. “and to anoint the most Holy,” will not happen until after the end of the seven-year tribulation when Yeshua is made king of kings of all the earth. “…even in troublous times” is speaking of the seven-year tribulation period as noted in the book of Revelation. “…Shall Messiah be cut off” is also speaking about the tribulation period.

1 Thessalonians 2:1-12.
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

During this time Messiah will be cut off. The Spirit of Jehovah will be removed from the earth and Messiah cut off so that the devil can have his way for seven years and then he will be taken out of the way. Yes, Messiah will be cut off, even Amos 8:11-12 tells us: “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.”

See also the book of Revelation for all that will occur during the 7 years of tribulation.

Returning to Daniel 9:21-27 underlined above, “and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary…” refers to Zachariah’s prophecy of the battle for Jerusalem when all the nations go up against Jerusalem and are destroyed. Those are the people of the prince of darkness.

This is followed by the verse, “…and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” Again, this is all referring to the time of the end not of Messiah’s first coming. “…and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,” is clearly a reference to Yeshua’s Matthew 24:15 declaration, “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:).” Exactly what Daniel is speaking about, Yeshua’s second coming not His first.

The above quote from Daniel 9 ends with these words, “and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Clearly, he is speaking about the tribulation period and the judgments that will be passed upon the inhabitants of the earth. There is no doubt, there will be a hundred and 23 years from the time of the rebuilding of the last temple until the coming of Messiah. How do we know when the rebuilding will start?

For decades now the people who have settled the land calling themselves Jews have been raising funds and collecting artifacts to rebuild the temple. So much is so secretive in the nation of modern-day Israel we have no way of confirming when or if the work has begun. I believe it has.

Remember that the temple mount was only given back to the Muslims in 1967. We have no idea how long or if any work was done on the temple when it was in the possession of Israel. If the work was begun in 1948 when Israel became a nation it is counted within the Daniel’s time to the second coming of Messiah.

“In 1967 during the Six-Day War the Jordanians, who had control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, attacked Israel with the help of Syria and Egypt. The Israelis pushed the Jordanians out of the West Bank and as a result took East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. After the dust settled from the Six-Day War, Israeli Prime Minister Levi Eshkol returned the authority of the Temple Mount to the Islamic Waqf. The Waqf are the Islamic guardians of Muslim holy sites; they watch over them and make sure they are being managed properly. Levi Eshkol returned the Temple Mount to the Islamic Waqf as a gesture of peace to the Arab world. He vowed, “No harm whatsoever shall come to the places sacred to all religions.”

We could be speaking about the coming of the Messiah somewhere around 2071 which is a matter of 51 years. Please do not say that I have just dated the day and time of Messiah’s return. I am simply doing what Daniel did, from the books of Jeremiah, Daniel, Matthew, 2 Thessalonians and Revelation among other books, I like Daniel have come to an understanding, we all must seek clarification like Daniel by prayer, supplication and with fasting. But Daniel has already done that for us when the angel Gabriel came and enlightened Him. Yeshua also enlightened us and all the other prophets that speaks on this matter. Scripture interprets scripture!

Returning back to the general theme of this commentary, we note that the Bible gives us more than one way to arrive at the correct time. Genesis 1:14 tells us that the sun, moon and luminaries were for signs, thus we understand how the wisemen were able to follow the star to Bethlehem. The verse also states it is for seasons so we would know for sure which season Yeshua would be born in and for sure it was not winter because shepherds do not spend the winter with the flock in the fields.

We calculate the number of days and years because the bible tells us that Jehovah gave Israel to know to observe the phases of the moon to know when the months begin, at the first sliver of the moon is the top of each month. From this calculation Israel can determine the days of the month.

Psalms 104:19
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

Bases on the moon and marked distinctions of certain full moons one would know which season they were in.

Psalms 81:3
Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

Sighting the new moon declared the beginning of the new month.

1 Samuel 20:18
Then Jonathan said to David, To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.

It was because of the new moon that they knew when it was time to eat at the king’s table. That was their calendar.

1 Samuel 20:24
So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.

Isaiah 66:23
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

This is how the people knew it was time for the sabbath because from the counting of the first sight of the new moon was the first day of the month. Thus, from the 1st day sighting of the new moon and counting to the 7th day would be the sabbath and so on. This is also how they knew the days of the feasts like on the fourteenth day of the first month would be Passover etc. We no longer observe time and calculate the calendar or seasons as Jehovah had designated from the beginning of time. We have lost our way.

Luke 21:25
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

During the tribulation the luminaries will reflect the signs of YHVH’s prophecies being fulfilled. We just cannot ignore the moon as our calendar. Have you taken notice that the Gregorian calendar depicts the moon beginning in the middle of the month most months and most years? From the moment we sight the new sliver of the moon we should understand that in Jehovah’s calendar we are at the top of the month not the middle. How many days have the Gregorian calendar added that have kept us off the correct time over these many centuries? This calendar was developed in 1582. This is a solar calendar not a lunar calendar as instructed by Jehovah.

Book of Jubilees chapter 2:31-38
“And there is no neglecting (this commandment) for a single year or from year to year. And command you the children of Yisrael that they observe the years according to this reckoning- three hundred and sixty-four days, and (these) will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts; for everything will fall out in them according to their testimony, and they will not leave out any day nor disturb any feasts. But if they do neglect and do not observe them according to His commandment, then they will disturb all their seasons and the years will be dislodged from this (order), [and they will disturb the seasons and the years will be dislodged] and they will neglect their ordinances. And all the children of Yisrael will forget and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the new months, and seasons, and Shabbats and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth will I declare it unto you, and it is not of my own devising; for the book is written before me, and on the heavenly tablets the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the Gentiles after their error and after their ignorance. For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon - how it disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb (the order), and make an abominable (day) the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the kodesh with the unclean, and the unclean day with the kodesh; for they will go wrong as to the months and Shabbats and feasts and jubilees. For this reason I command and testify to you that you may testify to them; for after your death your children will disturb them, so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty-four days only, and for this reason they will go wrong as to the new months and seasons and Shabbats and festivals, and they will eat all kinds of blood with all kinds of flesh.”

***It can’t be clearer than this! Surely, we have disturbed YHVH’s calendar! We are at a lost as to what is happening with our weather, seasons and all things pertaining to days and years.***

Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Indeed, times and laws have change. Man has created all kinds of laws pertaining to the earth and heaven that are theories based on lies. So, Copernicus created the heliocentric earth and all of a sudden, a flat earth has become a ball spinning around a sun with gravity to keep us from floating away or spinning out of control.

We cannot accurately tell time without using Jehovah’s calendar. Just as He said it would happen it has already happened. We have no clue where we are on His calendar. Things are happening which we can’t account for.

Let’s continue with the examples given in the Bible.

Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Remember that scripture can have a dual meaning.

Continuing to apply the same reasoning we have threescore and two weeks: 3x20 =60 and 2x7 =14, thus we have a total of 74 years. So, we have 74 years from Yeshua’s death until the destruction of the temple by Rome. Many studies would tell you 70 years but if you are using the Gregorian calendar then you will be off in your calculations. Jehovah’s calendar is based on the lunar cycle which is shorter than the Gregorian calendar based on the sun. “The Gregorian calendar is the calendar used in most of the world. It is named after Pope Gregory XIII, who introduced it in October 1582. The calendar spaces or uses leap years to make the average year 365.2425 days long, approximating the 365.2422-day tropical year that is determined by what they call Earth's revolution around the Sun.” Genesis 1:14 tells us that the sun and moon are set in the firmament. The firmament revolves around the earth. As noted in Genesis 1:14 the sun and moon were not created until the 4th day so what was keeping the earth in its so-called orbit until the 4th day? We keep putting the cart before the horse.

Because of the firmament that revolves around the earth at various times and years certain constellations can be seen in different locations. The wisemen tracked a certain star that appeared in a certain year. The ancients studied the luminaries for signs, thus Genesis 1:14 is a statement of fact, “…and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

One week is 7 years and in the midst of the week would be 3.5 years and thus we have the years of tribulation.

We must allow the Bible to interpret its self and we must allow the word of the prophets to guide us in understanding our time in the Bible.

Within a specific 1000-year, Jehovah’s day, Adam ate of the fruit and he lived out only 930 years of that day. As 1000 years is to Jehovah one day so does 7 weeks equal 49 years, 3 scores 60 years, and 2 weeks 14 years etc.

We live in a world that has refined time by its standard and not Jehovah’s. I wonder why so many believers walk in darkness of the truth and I realize they are afraid of the truth that is designed to set them free. We say we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit that empowers us but really, I think most people just want to experience the power but not gain or walk in the truth.

We want signs and wonders but not the reality of Jehovah’s truth. So, we read the Bible and we don’t get it. We even admonish those who have access the truth. We don’t read the bible for understanding we read it to exert our knowledge over others. We do it to gain leverage in spiritual things. It disturbs my peace of mind when I see people who genuinely want the truth but are afraid of it. They don’t want to hear anything that makes them appear out of sync with the majority. People really fear the truth, they fear being alone with the truth. They are afraid of not being understood and not being taken seriously. But in truth the truth is a matter of heaven or hell. Why not take a chance on heaven because we have all tried hell on one level or another and it has and will always fail us.

The truth will set us free, but you must be willing to live by the Spirit and the Spirit is not of this world. If you only want what this world has to offer you will always be hell bound. There is nothing worse than loving Jehovah and being afraid of His truth. We can fear him, but we ought not to be afraid of Him. All I am saying is to open the book and have a go at it. I know many people feel the Bible is beyond their comprehension but really it is not if you are a seeker. Put your trust in the Holy Spirit and not in man. It is man who have changed times and laws not the Holy Spirit so just trust Him to lead you.

Once He reveals a truth, He will defend it and prove it to you. You will never be alone again in the truth you learn and you will be confident in it because He will establish it in you. There is nothing worse than an adult believer who fears the truth and would defend the lies and deceptions rather than have an open mind to the Holy Spirit.

I remember when I was very dogmatic on principles I learned as a young believer in a formalized denomination. I wanted to prove to Jehovah that I was strong in my faith but in truth I was ignorant in the word. I wanted to prove to Him that I could be trusted and that I could defend my faith even when what I was taught was a lie. Gradually I learned to have more trust and confidence in the Holy Spirit than in what I thought I knew. We say, “Let go and let God,” but really, we are afraid to let go and let Elohim.

I am now of the opinion that if I am the only one who believes what I know to be the truth then that is OK with me. I trust Jehovah to see me through. I would rather stand-alone from man than alone from Jehovah.

Take out the Book and begin again to read from the beginning to the end, and again and again. Don’t bring along anything extra just the word alone. I promise it will not return void. Every word you read will hit its mark, I can’t tell you when, but I know if you stick with it, it will happen for you. Seek and ye shall find! People are afraid to be alone in the truth but with Jehovah you are and will never be alone. Many are called but few are chosen. The way is narrow and very few enter that straight and narrow path. It is not crowded so when you make up your mind that there are very few on the path you will be able to carry on.

Take a chance on truth, the real truth. You don’t have to explain away what you don’t understand. Just be still and know that He is Elohim, and, in His time, you will come to the truth. There is such peace in the truth. That peace passeth all understanding. You can be in a crowd of people talking crazy thing about the word and whether they want to hear the truth or not you will be OK. Peace will not abandon you.

People will question what you believe but it doesn’t matter. They only do that to fit in to the number of people around them that live in the same ignorance they are in. Misery loves company and people who are afraid loves company. I am not sure why I am saying these things but somehow, I feel it is necessary. Someone needs to know they are OK. Someone needs to know it is OK to walk in truth even if it is alone. But we are never really alone in truth. The cloud of witnesses should be our comfort.

My issue is having to quench the desire to blast the truth to others even when I see they really want to know and need to. But they are not ready, and you can do nothing unless the Holy Spirit draws them. If you go against the Spirit’s timing you will be splattered all over the place. It is not easy to walk away but sometimes you have to. We simply can’t, shouldn’t cast our pearls before pigs. We need to know when to withhold the precious from the vile just as much as we need to take the precious from the vile.

So, I end with this, study to know the truth and stand for it even if alone. Let the Holy Spirit give you discernment, so you put the truth in the right hand(s) at the right time. I can tell you that sharing the good word with people who do not desire it can exhaust your spirit. It can wear you out and down.

Finally, understand that as there is an understanding of time in the Bible, we each have our time to be receptive to the truth of the Bible. Let us not quench the spirit.

" Today’s Church - Bride or Concubine ? "

When Yeshua returns what kind of a church will He find, a bride or a concubine? The bride is the legitimate espoused of Yeshua by marriage by contract and oath – His death, His blood, His promise to come back for her.

The church is acting like a concubine, a woman being kept and not a lawful bride. This is not to disrespect the bride of Yeshua but merely to point out how the church is presently acting. You only have to read Revelation 2-3 to understand the various conditions the church will be found in when Messiah returns. He Himself pointed all this out to John the revelator in the book of Revelation. Yeshua points out all the inconsistencies of the church including in the latter days.

There are many who will teach that these inconsistencies found in the church has already occurred but I venture to say that Yeshua tells us assuredly when these things shall occur: Revelation 1:19 “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter…” He is clear that these things will occur in the church during different times. The church so early in its life reflected these seven inconsistencies and were again going through them and in the future the church will go through them again. Thus, these are reoccurring inconsistencies in the church. Every generation of the church most likely experienced some or all of these inconsistencies.

The church has been given its mandate of behavior. The church is commanded to be holy and without spot or wrinkle. We are called to be separated in our thinking and actions while in the world. We are to be a light and the salt of the earth, but we are acting contrary to Jehovah’s mandate for us.

Even Yeshua asked, “…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8

The church is acting like a concubine, we claim we are betrothed to Yeshua, but we are in bed with all manner of thoughts, ideas, nuances of faith, blending our belief with other “isms” and so on. We dress like the world, act like the world and are found in the same places the world gathers at to live contrary to Jehovah’s word.

Let’s look at some definitions of the word concubine: a woman with whom a man cohabits without being married: such as one having a recognized social status in a household below that of a wife; (in polygamous societies) a woman who lives with a man but has lower status than his wife or wives; A woman who cohabits with a man without being legally married to him. In certain societies, such as imperial China, a woman contracted to a man as a secondary wife, often having few legal rights and low social status.

In the case of the church, the bride rather than stay in the legal position of bride, she opts to act as a concubine, collecting all the benefits outside of the contract, acting as a second wife rather than as the first and primary wife – in this case the church is the espoused bride of Yeshua. He has gone to prepare her living quarters for her and soon He will return to take her as His very own and present her to His Father.

Yeshua is not returning for a bride and a concubine because the scriptures are very clear, the bride must be above reproach, perfect, remain in the marriage contract – keep my commandments until my return. The church has been bought with a prize, one of pain and suffering, death and resurrection. The church must meet Jehovah’s requirement as a bride for His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased. The church must also be pleasing to Father.

The church is acting like anything is acceptable under grace. It is shameful how on Sunday morning allover the world people are showing up in services dress like they are going to a party. I remember when Rhianna was invited to a relative’s wedding in Barbados and she showed up with just about everything exposed. The priest at the Anglican church sent out the word to meet her at the door that she could not enter unless she was covered. How many brave priests, pastors, lay person can take that stand? Most people would not dress immodest in front of their parents but yet we have no problem entering the house of Jehovah anyway we like. Grace means we have been forgiven at no cost to us, it does not mean we are freed to be loose and lewd. It does not mean we can come boldly unto the throne of grace looking like a harlot.

The church is acting like a paid lover, they take the blessings while living immorally. Here are some biblical descriptions of what a bride should be like.

Jeremiah 2:32
Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

What are our ornaments and attire? Righteousness, the fruits of the spirit, clothed in white robes – clean before the world, without spot or wrinkled, transformed by the renewing of the mind, etc.

Isaiah 62:5
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

The church must conduct itself like a virgin, pure and not carnal minded or worldly. It should live in a way that Jehovah looking down on her can rejoice in all of her behavior. The term virgin means the bride has not known any other man but the church today is in bed with every unsound doctrine, the church cannot be identified by her outward appearance, the church must keep her temple covered so that only her husband can uncover her and none other. The church today bears all for the world to see.

Isaiah 61:10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

The church should be adorned in jewels of faith, good deeds, beyond reproach, not like a prostitute wearing the world’s fashions and adorned in its makeup and apparels that belong to the other gender. She is adorned in Jehovah’s jewels, clothed in His white robes of purity, she is clothed in garments of salvation living saved and not bound for hell.

Joel 2:16
Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

The church must remain in her closet where the bride goes to await the groom on the day of the wedding. As a church we must not be found in places that is unseemly for a pure woman to be found in. We have to take care of what we fill our minds with. We have to take care of the things we engage our eyes with. We have to live a life that is completely opposite to the world. We cannot serve two masters, and neither can we live two lives. The bride is compelled to live in her closet, keeping herself chaste from the influence of others except every word that is written in the word of Jehovah. In that closet of chastity, the bride does not fall under the influence of others. In the closet all prey is kept away from her and no one is allowed to look upon what belongs only to he whom she is espoused to. The bride is cautioned not to exposed herself to the eyes of others. Now compare what the church is doing to this.

Matthew 25:1
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

The church should always be ready to meet her bridegroom at any hour of the day. At any point in our lives we should be ready to meet Yeshua. The church is living like it has time to fix itself up right before the wedding. But if you do not know the day or the hour the bridegroom will come you will miss Him. The church must be ready at all times. Be careful little hands what you do, be careful little feet where you go, be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, be careful little lips what you say, be careful little hearts what you feel and be careful little minds what you entertain. We must be careful at every juncture of life to reflect the right actions as pertains to righteousness. Our lamps must be filled with oil every second of every day. Imagine the bridegroom sending his Spirit to anoint you with His precious oil and you go like a pig and waddle in the mud and soil all of yourself inside and out.

Yeshua did not leave His bride without sustaining power to meet Him on the other side of this life. He equipped the church with every tool and every essential gift necessary to be ready. It is a very straight and narrow path He has left us to walk but he Himself made that walk so that we too can see it is not impossible. We have not been left without power! We have been given an example and we have been left with commandments to keep us holy.

At some time in our Christian walk we must ask ourselves the question, are we walking righteously before our Elohim? Have we considered our testimony before the world? If Yeshua were to come instantly would we be ready? Do our lives reflect that of Yeshua’s? Are we operating in our lives under the biblical principles Jehovah has established for us? Are we being ethical in our work and businesses? Are we living the marriage life that is biblical and raising our families according to Jehovah’s word? Are we dressing like the world making excuses for our appearances so we can indulge? What examples are we setting for family, friends, and acquaints, etc., etc.?

As we get older in our faith there must be some differences noted. We simply can’t arrive at old age the same way we were in our teens, middle age and so on. There has to be a change inside and outside. Yes, Jehovah looks at the heart but what is inside is reflected on the outside because the truth becomes you.

The problem with our world is that it has learned how to change the appearance of people. Plastic surgery can make an otherwise older person look years younger and thus causing people to be silly old men and women. Dieting to keep a body firm and sexually appealing will make both men and women continue in their worldliness. Even wealth and poverty can cause people to act in ways that is a betrayal to their faith.

No one wants to stand out in a crowd but if we are to live as a light to the world we must stand out. You might be that lone lighthouse but if we all live right, we don’t have to be. We can be our own light shining along with other lights making that path that much brighter.

The bride is like that light, she is the only one dressed in white to announce she is the woman of the day. In a wedding party you ought to be able to instantly recognize the bride and groom from the other guest. In this world we too must be easily recognizable from the other inhabitants. May Jehovah give us wisdom on how to conduct ourselves!

Many members of the church can’t be recognized for who they are and are often offended when met with the challenge of looking like the world. I can’t tell you how many times I have walked into a congregation and seen worship and praise members dress like the world in every sense of nudity, can’t discern if you are looking at a man or a woman, some look like they just came from a bar or will be going to one right after, other come filthy or like they are headed for a ball game. For those of you reading this and saying I am judging, the Bible says we are to judge just make sure the beam is out of your eyes first. It is more kind to judge one another than to stand before the ultimate judge and be cast out into eternal darkness.

Many a believer have entered the church house basking in the blessings that rain down on all. They want the blessings and the titles, but they don’t want to be the responsibility of living the part. The battle for the hearts of men is raging. The devil who is our accuser is constantly on our trail. Paul said the good I want to do I simply miss the mark constantly. Yes, when you finally make up your mind to do right the devil will always present that situation to prove you wrong. Beloved, repent and keep pushing forward. A broken and contrite heart Jehovah will not turn away.

Just keep encouraging yourself in Yeshua, keep pushing back against the devil and his wiles. Keep telling yourself that yesterday is gone but today is another chance to overcome. There is no person in the Bible except Yeshua who did not make a mistake. But all those that repented overcame. That is the truth, you just have to repent and do the works of repentance and don’t do those things again that once separated you from Jehovah. Just be keen on arriving at the end of your days more of grace than more of the world. Fight the good fight and don’t let anyone make you feel condemnation.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

When you completely turn away from sin there is no condemnation. People will try to bring it up, throw it in your face but as far as the east is from the west Jehovah has cast away our sins.

The church must stop being a concubine and become again that bride of Yeshua. We must stop taking His blessings while acting like a concubine and be His bride pure in body, soul and spirit.

I was speaking to a fellow co-laborer in the gospel and he mention this topic to me, and I asked him if he would mind if I wrote something about this topic. His name is Jorge Gonzales of Rey de Gloria ministry, Carlsbad NM and it just struck me that he hit the nail on the head, the church is acting like a concubine, a kept woman and not as the bride of Yeshua. I hope this commentary reflects some of the notions that were in his thoughts concerning these two roles. I just went with what were in my thoughts.

The church does not need to embrace any of the things the world has to offer. We only need to reflect the word of Jehovah. Every religion has their garments that reflects their beliefs but the majority of denominations of the Christian faith just go along with whatever the world has to offer. We must let our faith become us first on the inside and reflect on the outside. Every aspect of our lives must reflect that Jehovah is our Elohim and Yeshua is our Messiah.

When I was on missions in Hawaii the only things for people to call me was a Mormon because there that religion reflects modesty in their attire. How I disliked being called or asked if I were a Mormon. Then I would say to people, Mormonism do not have the monopoly on modesty. Yet as I look at modern Christianity, I can’t help but note, unless I see most in the congregation, I can’t tell that they are of the faith. I only disliked being mistaken for a Mormon because theirs is not the gospel of Yeshua in totality. Let me expound with scripture.

Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Joseph Smith declared that an angel whom he called Moroni gave him another gospel.

1910, medical Latin, "one of the highest class of feeble-minded persons," from Greek (Attic) mōron, neuter of mōros "foolish, dull, sluggish, stupid," a word of uncertain origin. The former connection with Sanskrit murah "idiotic" (see moratorium) is in doubt. Latin morus "foolish" is a loan-word from Greek.

What’s in a name? Everything at times!

Back to the commentary, if only Christians reflect the righteousness of Jehovah, we will not have a problem recognizing each other. There must be a difference between the bride and a concubine. The bride will be bid to come, but the concubine will be bound and cast into outer darkness. What kind of Christian are you, bride or concubine?

Consider what the Bible says about the free woman and the bondwoman.

Galatians 4:30-31
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Compare the bondwoman with a concubine, which Hagar was. The promise was not given to her but to Sarah’s descendants. Let me than say this, the concubine will not be heir with the bride. Let us be wise beloved so that we do not find ourselves on the other side of eternity in a dark and dismal place.

The church must stop acting like a kept woman and become the bride of Yeshua!

" The Sabbath Day and The First Day Of The Week "

Institution of the Sabbath

Genesis 2:1-3
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Jehovah ended all His work on the sixth day. But on the seventh day He ceased from working and took a Sabbath rest – in Jehovah’s time that would be 1000 years to us. He did nothing on the 7th day but rested and enjoyed all that He had created.

The Command

Exodus 20:8-11; 31:15; 35:1-3
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Ex. 20:8-11)

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. (Ex. 31:12-17)

And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. (Ex. 35:1-3)

The commandment is clear, and it is perpetual, meaning for all generations, continuously and with no end in sight.

He gave the command that all of Israel and all those that dwell with them should also rest on the seventh day. At no time in the history of man has Jehovah changed the day of the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st day. “Throughout your generations means exactly that – the Sabbath day will never be changed. “…to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.” The word “perpetual” is the Hebrew word “owlam” properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), eternity, everlasting, continuous existence, unending future, clearly permanently. By the very commandment given to Moses Jehovah stated emphatically, His commandment to keep the Sabbath is an unending command.

There are restrictions of what cannot be done on the Sabbath day: no work for man nor beast, nor servants or anyone visiting or dwelling in a Hebrew home or community. A fire could not be kindled to cook food. All work had to be completed before the sabbath day and all food had to be prepared because no fire must be kindled. Read how Israel prepared for the Sabbath day rest.

Exodus 16:21-26
And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

Clearly Jehovah is telling Israel to make all preparations before the Sabbath for that sixth day as well as to last during the seventh day. No work means no work and no cooking means no cooking.

Neither should anyone buy or sell on the sabbath day.

Nehemiah 10:31 “And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.”

This means no buying and no selling. All preparations had to be made before the Sabbath began. On the Sabbatical year all debt was forgiven.

Nehemiah 13:15-19 “In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.”

Some of you are now shaking your heads about this thus far considering the words of Yeshua. We will also get to that! Don’t shut this down before you read all!

Leviticus 23:3
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

This verse tells us clearly that the Sabbath day is a holy convocation which means a public meeting, an assembly, a reading. Thus, we understand that one of the significant things about the Sabbath day is that Israel was to gather themselves together in their communities and read the scriptures. This is why we always found Yeshua in the synagogues on the Sabbath day reading the scriptures and teaching. This was also the practice of all the apostles.

Here are some other verses pertaining to the Sabbath: Deuteronomy 5:12-14, Ezekiel 20:19-20, Isaiah 38:13-14, Leviticus 23:3

The Sabbath must be taking into context based on both the Old and the New Testament teachings.

Who can partake of the Sabbath?

We clearly know that the law was given to Moses and that it was for the children of Israel and the whole multitude of people who came out of Egypt with them. We hear repeatedly in the Bible the words written, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel…” Not only Israel is to keep the Sabbath but also, the son, daughter, the servants both male and female, the stranger that dwells inside one’s gate, the animals and anyone that join themselves to Israel. That includes anyone grafted onto the olive tree as noted in the New Testament teachings.

Romans 11:16-17
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Yeshua did not come to start a new religion He fulfilled the one that was established first from Adam and continued with Abraham throughout his generations. Christianity is not a new religion it is the culmination of Judaism through redemption by the blood of Yeshua for both Jews and Gentiles which makes both one new man in Yeshua so says Ephesians 2:11-12.

The accessibility of the Sabbath to Gentiles did not begin with the death of Yeshua. Isaiah 56 gives a special invitation and blessing to all Gentiles who choose to observe the Sabbath.

Isaiah 56:1-7
Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Jehovah extends the keeping of the Sabbath to the stranger, the Gentiles, and even to the eunuch, those who were altered. The Gentile was not excluded from keeping Jehovah’s Sabbath. When Christian teach that the Sabbath was not intended for the Gentiles, they teach untruths. They are teaching that Jehovah is partial. Even the New Testament declares that Jehovah is not partial. Any Gentile that choose to observe Jehovah’s Sabbath, because it pleases Him that they do, there is a special blessing for that person. This is a gift from Jehovah.

Everything culminates in the New Testament. All can participate in the Sabbath, both Jew and Gentile are made one new man, the Gentile is grafted onto the olive tree and are partakers of the root and the fatness of the olive tree. No one can say that the fatness of Israel has been withheld from the church. No one can say that the church replaced Israel because they both have become one new man in Yeshua. No one can say that the Old Testament teachings on the Sabbath was for Israel only. No one can say that the Sabbath has been abolished in the New Testament.

Preaching on the Sabbath Day

Acts 13:14-16
But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

This was the custom of the Christians both Jews and Gentiles to attend the synagogues on the Sabbath as an assembly for the reading and teaching of the word of Jehovah.

Acts 13:42-44
And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

It was a known fact and acceptable practice that both Jews and Christians gathered or assembled on the Sabbath day at the synagogues to hear the gospel. Remember, Christianity is the fulfillment of Judaism, Christ to all and for all – followers of Christ.

Acts 15:19-23
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:

The Jews were becoming envious of the Gentiles who were coming to faith. They began to put restrictions on them to be circumcised etc. But Paul told them not to do such things to the Gentiles of faith. But we know that it was on the Sabbath and in the synagogues that the Gentiles also assembled to hear the teachings. We can conclude that they kept the Sabbath. The word was read every Sabbath day in the synagogues. Both Jews and Gentiles attended.

Acts 17:1-2
Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

In this case only Jews attended this synagogue and Paul went to reason with them concerning the scriptures and the gospel of Yeshua. They were obviously not yet converted. This is where the gospel was taught PERIOD!

Acts 18:1-4
After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Paul taught in the synagogue to both Jews and Greeks. There was not one place of assembly for the Jews and another for the Gentiles. This was it, Jew and Gentile both had access to the gospel in the same place. The alternative would be in a pagan temple but that was never the case.

NOTE: By the institution of the Catholic Church, Gentile Christians began to organize themselves into their own structures fashioned after pagan places of worship. Today we have a form of pagan Christianity in every aspect of the church. With this separation from the Jewish synagogues the church began to incorporate pagan traditions that caused the Jews to look upon Christianity as a pagan religion. Today, it is most difficult to try to convince Christians that our form of Christianity is steeped in paganism. Everything from the design of the buildings to the format of the services is steeped in paganism. How do you fight traditions? Yeshua Himself could not separate the religious of His day from their traditions. How did we get it so wrong? We allow other men to decide for us what the scriptures say. The Catholic Church kept the masses uneducated and ignorant. The Reformation put the Bible back into the hands of the common people. Denominations keeps stripping away the whole truth, and every believer must account for what they have done or not done with the opportunity to study the word.

You only need to read the New Testament to see that both Yeshua and the Apostles taught in the synagogues every Sabbath. They kept the Sabbath! The Gentiles would come to the synagogue to hear the Apostles preach.

Colossians 2:10-17
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Through the blood of Yeshua all have access to faith. The ordinances of the Old Testament have all been fulfilled in Yeshua. The Gentiles who were far off can now be reconciled through faith in Yeshua because they are made nigh unto Him. “Let no man therefore judge you,” because it has all been fulfilled. They were a shadow of things to come which is the body of Christ. Both Jew and Gentiles are complete in Yeshua. All who believer are circumcised in the heart not the flesh.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross…” These ordinances no longer condemn us. We are saved by grace because Yeshua became that ultimate sacrifice lamb for both Jew and Gentile.

What was accessible to the Jews through the keeping of the ordinances is now available to all through the blood of Yeshua. No man can judge us in what we do because these are a shadow of things to come. “Which are” in the text above, is connected by a semi colon which connects to closely related independent clauses. These two clauses are not separated but one in the same. We cannot be judged by what we do in regard to meat, drink, a holyday, new moon, Sabbath days because they are a shadow of things to come. You only need to read the prophecies of end times to know that all of these things are indications of when the end will come and what those days will look like.

The key words, “Which are a shadow of things to come…”

1 Timothy 4:1-4
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

“A shadow of things to come.”

Leviticus 23:34
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

When did Yeshua come the first time? His very name is an indication of when this feast was fulfilled, He shall be called Emmanuel – God with Us! This is the meaning of the Feast of Tabernacles not December 25th the middle of the high pagan religious celebrations. Just as keeping the Sabbath reminds us of that eternal Sabbath to come so does the keeping of the Feast of Tabernacles reminds of the first and second coming of Yeshua. We dwell in houses of branches to reminds us we are not home yet; He has gone to prepare a place for us.

Because we have abandoned Jehovah’s calendar and way of keeping time, we no longer observe the beginning of the month by the sighting of the new moon. We don’t recognize His feast days by the time set forth in the Bible. We observe the Gregorian calendar that has us lost in time. We can no longer tell one season from another. But all these things are a shadow of things to come. How do we know when those things will come if we abandon all that Jehovah has set forth for us as a sign of the times?

Yeshua Lord of the Sabbath

Matthew 12:8,20
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Yeshua is our access to the eternal Sabbath day of rest. He is the Lord of it. Because of His shed blood now all who believe can enter into that eternal rest. This is what every believer’s goal ought to be. It is unfortunate that we have made our goal reaping the blessings of Jehovah while on this earth. Some prosperous Christians have allowed their wealth to lull them into complacency. They believe their earthly blessings is their ticket to heaven. They forget so easily that Yeshua is the Lord of the Sabbath and they don’t keep His Sabbath and they don’t acknowledge His eternal reward.

A Sabbath’s day journey

Acts 1:12
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

Rest means exactly that; thus, the Bible tells us that there is only a certain distance one could travel on the Sabbath day and that is only to attend the Sabbath day assembly. One ought not to buy or sell so it has to be a distance one could walk rather than hire a ride. One could not carry a heavy load either, so it also prohibited taking along food for a feast and such things. The Sabbath day journey is to be one that does not impinge on all the things Jehovah stated man should abstain from doing on that day.

Things to do on the Sabbath

Mark 3:4
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

Yeshua asked the question concerning acceptable deeds on the Sabbath day. Clearly, He demonstrated that doing good deeds belongs on the Sabbath day for the Sabbath day was made for man. To pluck food to eat is better than dying just to preserve the Sabbath day, to save a life is required for life is more precious than the day itself.

Mark 2:24-28
And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Thus, we conclude, there are things that are lawful on the Sabbath day. We need wisdom and discernment to know what is lawful. Studying the word will give more insights in how to conduct one’s self and drawing on the Holy Spirit will lead you into truth and action.

Why would Yeshua say the Sabbath was made for man if He did not intend for man to keep the Sabbath. The earthly Sabbath is a constant reminder of the eternal Sabbath to come. It is a day of rest. It is a day intended to allow the body, soul and spirit to recover from six days of labor. It is a day to reflect on our creator, study his word, gather together with other believers and read His word. Some people think it is OK to go to ball games, play sports, barbecue, and enjoy strenuous social activities as long as you are not engaging in paid work, but this is not true. A day of rest means exactly that, cease, STOP from all laboring.

Things that should be done on the 1st day of the week verses the Sabbath:

Collect offering

1 Corinthians 16:1-2
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Why did Paul give this order to collect money for the saints on the first day of the week? It is because they were doing all things pertaining to the church on the Sabbath day like collecting a tithe or offering to help the believers. Paul understood and conveyed that certain things should not be done on the Sabbath day; one being collecting or handling money whether for a good cause or not. Thus, He ordered that even though the day of assembling the body was on the Sabbath, the works must not be done on the Sabbath but on the first day of the week instead or on any other day but the Sabbath.

Sabbath day keepers still practice tithing and offering collection on the Sabbath day.

Breaking of bread or the Lord’s supper

Acts 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

The disciples participated in the breaking of bread as well as encouraging it on the first day of the week rather than on the Sabbath. Obviously, one could not cook on the sabbath day, nor could one carry a heavy load, set up tables and chairs, clean dishes and such like on the Sabbath day. Thus, this was reserved for the first day of the week. One day was rest and the other day was serving each other so to speak. Any observance of the first day of the week had nothing to do with the fact that Yeshua was resurrected on the first day of the week.

I attended and participated in many a Sabbath day service where the members toted food and such to feed the assembly while also taking back their unused items and making plates for later. In the Bible this was strictly to be a 1st day of the week occurrence.

The first day of the week was Yeshua’s resurrection because He could not be raised on the Sabbath day.

Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20
These chapters all support Yeshua being resurrected on the first day of the week. As stated above and expounded more below, Yeshua could not be resurrected on the Sabbath day or on any Sabbath day because it was a day of rest from all work. For Jehovah to do so would be to break his own commandment. Jehovah is not a liar nor can He go back on His word.

If you have read any of the commentaries on Leviticus 23 concerning the Feasts of Jehovah, you would have learned that Yeshua was resurrected on the Feast of Firstfruits which does not fall on the first day of the week every year. It is the day of which the priest finds the first ripe sheaf of barley for the harvest to be brought in. Yeshua is the firstfruit from the grave and He was raised on the day of firstfruits as He fulfills all the feast of Jehovah. It just so happened that the feast of firstfruits fell on the first day of the week at that time. Exactly 7 Sabbaths and weeks and the next day, the 50 days is the day of Pentecost. We go from the Feast of Passover, to the Feast of Unleavened Bread, (the Feast of Firstfruits is the day the priest declared the barley is ready for harvest which can be on any day during this time), then Pentecost, exactly each day as Leviticus 23 states. Yeshua is the fulfillment of each Feast.

Matthew 28:1
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

The Sabbath day ends at sundown when it began to dawn, or the sun began to rise on the 1st day of the week is when the two Marys came to the sepulcher. The day according to the Bible begins at sundown and the sun rises in the middle of the day. Thus, from sundown to sundown is a day and the sun rises in the middle of the day not the beginning.

Mark 16:1-2
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

After the Sabbath had past so says the Bible. Why? So that we know that Jehovah did not violate His Sabbath. “Very early in the morning,” not at the beginning of the day, so says the Bible.

Mark 15:42-43, see also Luke 23:50-56
And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

Jehovah planned all this in advance knowing exactly to the day when all these events would fall exactly in place. Time would line up with all His prophecies. Remember that this was a rare and special week of Sabbaths. Imagine the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits and the weekly Sabbath day of the week all coincide exactly day by day allowing Messiah to fulfill every one of those feasts exactly in the same week. Yeshua’s early death on the cross was unexpected as crucifixions go. He had to die and be buried before the Sabbath began. Remember, Passover is a Sabbath, On the first day of Unleavened Bread is also a Sabbath and on its 7th day it is also a Sabbath. The sheaf of the first fruit would have been the barley harvest. The first ripe sheaf was to be beaten, wave and a he lamb without blemish was to be offered before Jehovah. Exactly on the day following the seven weeks of Sabbath was the day of Pentecost which is the 50th day from counting the omer. Every event lined up line upon line and precept upon precept. (Read Leviticus 23)

John 19:31
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

“…For that Sabbath day was a high day,” not meaning the 7th day weekly Sabbath. This is because all the four spring feast days came into play in exactly the same time for Messiah to fulfill all those feasts in one fell swoop. Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits and the Sabbath day rest were all back to back. Thus, Yeshua was resurrected on the first day which was not a Sabbath day. Leviticus 23:10-14 gives us the requirements of the day of Firstfruits and it was not given as a day of Sabbath because that would prevent the priest from walking in the field to declare the barley harvest was ready.

However, Leviticus 23:3-8 declares that the weekly Sabbath, the day of Passover and the beginning and ending days of Unleavened Bread are both Sabbath days and the day after the Feast of Firstfruits was also a Sabbath.

Leviticus 23:11
And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

But the very next morning after the Feast of Firstfruits is a Sabbath. What does this look like? The 14th day of the 1st month is the Passover a Sabbath day, the next day is the 15th day which is the beginning of Unleavened Bread is a Sabbath, and on the seventh day of Unleavened Bread is also a Sabbath and the weekly 7th day is a Sabbath. But the sheaf of the firstfruits shall be waved the morning after the Sabbath. Thus, we can conclude that during the 7 days of Unleavened Bread the barley is examined. It would be after a Sabbath day that the sheaf would be waved. In this case, after the 7th day weekly Sabbath.

On the day Yeshua was resurrected was the same day the priest declared the day as the day of Firstfruits. The next day is a Sabbath. Thus, we have “high day” noted in John 19:31 above. A high day is when more than one Sabbath falls on the same day it is therefore a high day.

NOTE: Here is the thing about the Feast of Firstfruits, Leviticus 23 does not say which day of the month this is. It states clearly on the 14th day of the first month is the Passover. On the 15th day of that same month is Unleavened Bread. Then It states that on the 1st day of the seventh month is the Feast of Trumpets, the 10th day of that same month is the Day of Atonement and on the 15th day of that same 7th month is the Feast of Tabernacles. Only on the Feast of Firstfruits a day is not given, however on the day after the 7th weeks of Sabbath from Firstfruits is the 50th day – the Feast of Pentecost – counting the omer.

The ripe barley sheaf is discovered during the 7-day Feast of Unleavened Bread. Yet it cannot be waved until after a Sabbath. What then is the chances that it is waved exactly on the day of Yeshua’s resurrection?
Yeshua’s eternal Sabbath verses the weekly Sabbath

Hebrews 4:1-11
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Do we Christians read this in context or with our preconceived notions of who Israel is and who the church is? There are many believers who do not believe Israel still has a place in Jehovah’s plan. There are many, maybe most who believe that those people who are dwelling in the present-day land of Israel are the true Hebrews. There are those that outwardly believe that the church has replaced Israel. And then there are those that understand that the Gentile believers are grafted on to the original olive tree with entitlements to the same benefits as Israel – the fatness of the tree.

We read in Isaiah 56 how Jehovah extended, in no uncertain terms, that the Gentiles are partakers of the Sabbath if they choose to please HIM. We know that they were not excluded in the commandments given to Moses if they were in the gates of the Hebrews or in their household. All of this was a foreshadowing of things to come, the access to the kingdom in Yeshua – being grafted on. Both the Jew and the Gentile now have access to this rest by faith in Yeshua and His redemptive works. There is no one way for the Jew and another way for the Gentile. “For we which have believed do enter into rest…”

“…and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief.” We see that even Israel cannot enter in because of unbelief while they were in the wilderness. This was demonstrated by those that doubted they could inhabit the land and chose to remain in the wilderness. We must ask ourselves the question, “What are we all striving for?” It is so that we may enter into His eternal rest to which this weekly Sabbath is a foreshadowing of that which is to come – eternal rest!

Through Moses Jehovah “…limited a certain day,” so that we know there is another rest to come. “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.” Indeed, Yeshua spoke of another day. As the Old Testament was practice for the New Testament so is the New Testament practice for the eternal rest to come. There is another day of rest coming, note the word states “another” meaning apart from what is present there is another to come. Thus, we conclude that neither Jehovah nor His Son Yeshua abolished the present Sabbath but gives us hope in the other day of rest to come.

Before Yeshua ascended to heaven He left the church with a mandate found in Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18 and Luke 24:46-49, and Acts 1:7-8. “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” Thus, we conclude from the verses that the church has not ceased from its work, so we have not entered into His rest. There is a final rest to come. “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” By practicing the Sabbath, we keep our eyes focused on that eternal rest to come. We have a weekly reminder that Jehovah’s eternal rest awaits us. There are some who makes the claim that the church has already entered Yeshua’s rest – this is a lie.

When we Christians say that we are not to keep the Sabbath we call Jehovah a liar. When we make claims that Yeshua changed Jehovah’s Sabbath to the 1st day of the week, we also make His word a lie. Yeshua could not be resurrected on the Sabbath because the Sabbath is a day of rest for man and for Jehovah. Thus, we conclude by His word that Jehovah raised Yeshua on the first day directly after the Sabbath rest. He who was firstborn in creation (Colossians 1:15), He who is the firstfruit from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:20) is also the one resurrected on the first day. Yeshua could not be resurrected on the Sabbath because it was a day of rest.

In conclusion, we know that the Sabbath day and the first day of the week have its own requirements. The more one practice keeping the Sabbath the more aware they become of Jehovah’s eternal Sabbath day of rest. We begin to look toward that day and soon the things of this earth will grow strangely dim. The eyes of the church are still on this world because we do not practice the eternal rest.

What can I say? I cannot compel you to anything except you read the word for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to show you the truth. Let me state how much I enjoy my Sabbath days. All my work is done, I have prepared all my victuals and I read His word and rest in Him. To find a congregation that meets on the Sabbath is another thing. Many have made the Sabbath day into another religion. It is difficult in these days when many are turning from faith to even compel anyone of the truth. People are tired of the truth because they refuse to read and study the word of Jehovah. Sometimes you have to walk alone in the truth until others come to that place.

Actually, the Bible does not say you can’t meet on the first day of the week, but it does say you must keep the Sabbath. That is the crux of the matter, we must keep the Sabbath and you can meet 7 days a week for service, but you must keep the Sabbath. It is clear what the Sabbath day is for and what it is not for. If you don’t have an assembly you can attend on the Sabbath, then at least adhere to its tenets.

The Bible says the truth will set you free. The word “you” is singular. You, yourself is the objective of the verb. In other words, you can’t wait for someone else “you” have to seek the truth.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

" Neither Repented They "

Revelation 9:21
Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

You’ve read about this in previous commentaries. I will make it as brief as possible.

The word “sorceries” is the Greek word “pharmakeia” which means medication (“Pharmacy”), witchcraft, the use or the administrating if drugs, poisoning, deception and seduction. The root word is “pharmakeus” a drug, a druggist, or poisoner, one who prepares or uses magical remedies or medications.

You can gather from this biblical definition whatever you can, but the bible does not lie. We have been on this pharmaceutical path for a long time now and it is so far down the path that many can no longer turn aside. The war is being waged in this forum.

For many years now I have suggested reading “Report From Iron Mountain” and I had even sent it out via this format. Since the sixties this current pandemic scenario has been explored and planned on but until now it could not have done what it intended to until certain things were in place.

“The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences.”
http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/

Imagine societies without the aged and the wisdom they bring to the table of common sense. Imagine a society totally dependent on drugs whether prescription or illegal. Imagine a society where the 1% rules and we have returned back to control measures of travel. Imagine a society where walls are going up to so-call protect nations from invaders, but in actuality are there to keep its inhabitants in so they can be easily controlled. The best way to plan for this is to have an exercise to see what the extent of walling off societies from the rest of the world could be like.

For years I had the same dream over and over again. I was living in a time where every community was barbwire off from the others. It was treacherous trying to get from one place to another. I could only imagine this on a small-scale basis, but with the current coronavirus scenario I see now how easy this larger scale of closing off cities containing millions of people could be accomplished. I saw videos of apartment complexes in China being welded shut so no one could enter or exist. We live in a different world now. The northern part of Italy is a telltale signs that not just in China but in Europe as well, all this is possible. Trump has been determined to build a wall and I asked, “Is it to keep people out or to keep people in.” Now we are seeing how easy it is to shut it all down and keep cities restricted.

The current answer for the world’s state of affairs is now in the hands of the pharmaceutical companies. Report From Iron Mountain is all about population control and how best to hem in a world that, as they say, had globalized. You can cross the earth in a matter of hours and go to any far-off destination. The language barriers are being broken down and people from all walks of life can communicate via social media.

The book of Revelation has been written for nearly 2000 years and yet we don’t believe what we read if anyone is still reading it. Yeshua Himself told us to prepare in Matthew 24 but Christians are still waiting to hear a word from the Holy Spirit to tell them what to do. It was the same in Yeshua’s day and they got their sign and yet did not believe. All I can say is this, to repeat Daniel’s own words, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” May the wise understand!

Someone said to me today that such talk is only spreading fear, well I guess Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Yeshua, Peter, Jude, John etc. have all been spreading fear for many millenniums. To be told what is coming is not fear but wisdom if you have an ear to hear. For those who are still waiting for the Holy Spirit to tell them what to do, hear these words: “ Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
(Revelation 1:3)

Yeshua said these words in Matthew 24:20, “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day…” The word “flight” is the Greek word “phyge” meaning fleeing, escape. There are all kinds of reasons to take flight, escape, flee. What can I say! Yeshua gave the warning to flee, escape, take flight but some are now saying I am waiting to know what to do. It is these same people who will wait for the sign and they will get it because the devil is coming with all manner of signs and wonders.

Revelation 13:13-14
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Deception doesn’t happen in one fell swoop but in increments. The mind is slowly drawn away by its own lust and by what it can see, feel and touch so that faith is lost. I told some one today that the genie is out of the box and they said they never saw that in the Bible. It was a rebuke to me. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” The genie out of the box! He that have an ear let him hear what has already been written. Jehovah will remove His grace and protection and that wicked one will be let loose in the earth for a season.

But you should read it again in total:

2 Thessalonians 2:5-12

What is the problem we are having here? “Neither repented they…! We have not repented of our arrogance, our lies, our doubt, disbelief, wickedness, lustful way of life, covetousness etc., etc., etc. When Christians no longer can offer the world insights into what is happening something is wrong. What has happened to the sons of Issachar who can tell us what to do? The truth is to fearful a thing to acknowledge.

I pray somehow through all this we are able to keep our eyes on Jehovah. But if you understand 2 Thessalonians 2 you will know that the time will come when He will let the devil have his season, and it is he who overcomes who will be saved during that time. Imagine having to survive during the absence of grace!

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie…” What lie? That everything you read in the Bible is a lie! Ignoring everything you read in the Bible! Taking lightly what you read in the Bible and spiritualizing it! Waiting for the Spirit to tell you what to do when Yeshua and His prophets and Apostles have already told you!

“Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?”

He that hath an ear, let him hear!

“All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:8

This scenario will keep going until there is absolutely no repentance.

Feel free to forward to others.

" Take Advantage Of This Time "

Here we are in the midst of a pandemic. I stated before that China was the most likely place for this to begin because the Chinese are the most mobile people in the world. If you had a chance to google Event 201 Scenario you will know that this was expected to hit Brazil first and then spread to Portugal, the USA and then China. It hit China first because of the movability of the people. They are the most traveled, making up the bulk of tourism all over the world.

I said before this is designed to eliminate the elderly. If you really listen to the news you will be able to read between the lines. Doctors are having to choose who they save, and it is not the elderly. We live in a world where the elderly is considered a drain on society in areas of healthcare. This virus was designed to target the aged.

Have any of you seen the movie Logan’s Run? It is a movie about a society who eliminated the elderly population and by the age of 29 (?) each individual must go to carousel and be renewed but in actually they were being eliminated. When a member of the security force discovered there is no renewal he runs. The existing society became nothing more than pleasure seekers, living an idyllic life manipulated by the powers that be to control the population. They carried their mark in the palm of their hand.

Does this sound familiar? That would be Revelation 13. When we have eliminated the elderly who remembers well what freedom really is, and who possess wisdom that comes with age, we will be left with a society of young people who only have an interest in video games and self-absorption – lovers of themselves all controlled by the powers that be. We wrestle not against flesh and blood!

I just read that Italy has decided not to save the lives of those 80 years and older who are struck down with the coronavirus. I am certain this was or is the same scenario in China and thus we find that the aged are more vulnerable because they are being eliminated. But are they more vulnerable or are they a liability? I venture to say they are a liability to the powers that be.

There is a frenzy for food and toilet paper for goodness sakes. There are young entrepreneurs utilizing Amazon and eBay, having bought up the necessary resources needed to combat this virus, selling them for outrageous amounts. This is the generation of young influencers and go-getters. This is the mentality of business people we have now in our societies. Without the elderly to mentor them, give words of wisdom we have run the risk of cutting certain segments out of our population.

The world will never be the same again. Just imagine the wealth of knowledge we are losing to this virus. I love when I see grandmas and grandpas making their own YouTube channels passing down recipes and family traditions before they are lost. But what about morality, virtues, spirituality and the likes?

Where are the sons of Issachar in this generation that are able to understand the times and tell their people what to do? Where are those who can discern what is happening and be able to say in times pass it was never like this? Who will be left to remember and tell how it really was?

I fear for the generations that follows because they are clueless. They are fighting for environmental changes but without a pure heart and conscience, without faith and character, without respect for all ages we run the risk of creating new societies who have ambition and interests with no moral frame of mind.

The earth has shifted into a new gear of decline. People are more concern for animal rights than human rights. People care more for fashion and cosmetics than for the hearts of their fellow man. The great influencers of the world are being shut down by divine intervention. The superstars in Hollywood and sports are being push back by divine intervention and we can’t see that what the devil means for bad Jehovah is still fighting for us and giving us an opportunity for change.

This is the time for us to step up and show that we are better than our circumstances. It is also the time to prepare for the long haul as the earth transition either in increments or in one fell swoop into the hands of the enemy. Please read again the commentary on 2 Thessalonians 2. Jehovah says that the time will come when He will remove grace and let the enemy have his day. That is the day of strong delusion because people refuse to believe the truth.

The Bible says the meek shall inherit the earth. I believe the word of Jehovah explicitly. This virus was meant to be released in Brazil, one of the poorest nations on the earth, but it hit superpowers China, Europe and USA. The nations that have exalted themselves as superior. Jehovah knows how to humble us. Look at the poorer nations that have yet to feel the presence of this virus. Perhaps they are repenting even now so the virus will not reach them. The meek shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 24 speaks of the days being shorten so the elect might be spared from the evil to come. That would mean that rather than the earth fulfilling its time, Jehovah cut the days short, so we see the ushering in of the end days prematurely.

In that same chapter of Matthew 24 we read about the 10 virgins, 5 wise and 5 foolish. The wise ones prepared but the foolish ones did not. If you have failed to prepare or read the signs it is unfortunate. I have been writing for a few years now about getting ready. I mentioned being able to grow your own food. Why is that important? Revelation 13 tells us that unless you have the mark of the beast you can neither buy nor sell. But if you can grow something, anything you can be OK. There will be no need to hoard and rob other people of their food. The thing about bad situations is that we get to really see the character of people.

Jehovah through all of this is giving us a chance to be at home with our children so we can teach them the things that are necessary. We can prepare them for what is coming. We can shape their character and teach them survival skills they will not learn in school. We can teach them our faith unhindered. We can try to get on top of the corrupt educational systems that have taken faith out of the schools.

Make good use of this time beloved. Jehovah is giving you a chance to make a difference unhindered. No eyes watching you or hearing you. Reinforce Jehovah in your children and family. Don’t spend this time in isolation playing video games and watching movies. Tell your children what they need to know. Become their influencer, become their moral compass. It takes 30 days to learn a new habit. Well we have more than 30 days with this virus alone at home with our families. Take advantage.

Perhaps we will come out of this with a repentant generation emerging. Cease the moment! In your house, in your home, in your family, take it back!

Jehovah is giving us a chance to undo the damage. Those that are addicts will have time to dry out, alcoholics will dry out, criminals will be restrained. Cease the moment to make a difference. Reshape your world from within. Hopefully when this pass, we will emerge from our home renewed, reborn, repentant.

If we don’t take advantage of this time we will emerge worst, more self-absorbed, less likely to forget our old habits and run back to the malls, movie theaters, and fill up the sports arenas again. That does not have to be our life. We are better than all that. Hopefully families will care more about each other, rediscover things that matter and learn to spend time with their loved ones. We will learn what is really important. I pray that this time together will be life changing and bring us back to the real meaning of life and faith. I pray that your elderly loved ones will not succumb or be let go because of the lack of resources. I pray that you will spend time asking them questions and learning from them how it was and can be again.

I hope when we all emerge from our isolation, we are much better for it. You only need enough for you and your family to survive. Leave something on the shelves for others to survive. Consider that today in this crisis you are teaching others how to act and how to care. May Jehovah help us all to be wise, compassionate and remain faithful. Take advantage of your time and make lasting positive changes.

May the peace of Jehovah through Yeshua His beloved Son be with you. Read your Bible and read it with your family close by and discuss it and impute it to your children. Be wise with this time!

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

" Without Repentance There Is No Forgiveness of Sins "

Without repentance there is no forgiveness of sins. Yet we Christians seems to be giving out forgiveness cart blanch, without even the offender soliciting forgiveness. This is not biblical even though it sounds like a good idea. It is clearly not biblical.

The Bible clearly teaches that forgiveness should only be obtained with repentance. Forgiveness must be solicited even as we see the thief on the cross saying to the other thief that they each know of their own sins. The forgiven thief made his confession on the cross and then asked Yeshua to remember him when He came into His kingdom.

This was the very principle set in motion by John’s preaching.

Luke 3:3
And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

John preached “repentance for the remission of sin.” He did not go around cart blanch handing out forgiveness cards or tokens. Why is it we Christians are handing out cart blanch cards of forgiveness even for the most egregious offenses?

Mark 1:4
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Repentance should result in forgiveness, but one need must repent to obtain such an amazing gift. It is important in the process for one to acknowledge they have done wrong and accept responsibility for it. Then they are able to confess their sins and receive forgiveness.

Yeshua Himself told his disciples that not just seven times but seventy times seven times one can receive forgiveness. As long as the person doing wrong continue to ask for forgiveness he or she must be forgiven.

A broken and contrite heart Jehovah will not turn away and neither can Christians turn away those who repent, confess and solicit our forgiveness. But no, we do not just nilly willy hand it over to unrepentant people. Also, we are not to allow others to continuously repeat the same offence – they must prove true repentance by doing the works of repentance.

Acts 26:20
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Paul was that living example of a man doing the works of repentance and he also preached to others that they too must do the same.

Luke tells us clearly that repentance and remission of sins must go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other. We Christians must stop the unscriptural forgiveness of sins. We only cause people to continue in the evil of their hearts.

Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The word “remission” is the Greek word “aphesis: meaning freedom, pardon, deliverance, liberty, letting them go as if they had never been committed.

Luke states, “repentance and remission of sins should be preached” in the name of Yeshua. With true repentance comes the remission of sins. However, if we keep doing the same thing over and over again without repentance there is no remission of sins. Repentance means a change of mind. Without a change of mind, one continues to sin over and over again. Wickedly men continue to do wickedly. Forgiving someone does not mean they have a change of mind merely that you have satisfied your emotional need to move on, put it behind!

When did we stop preaching repentance for the remission of sins? It is becoming far too easy for people to perpetrate atrocities against Christians because they are coming to see us as weak and easy targets. Hear what the wise Solomon said.

Ecclesiastes 8:11
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

When an evil person is slow to receive punishment for their evil deeds, they become more and more full of evil. When we cart blanch forgive wicked deeds, we are telling the world at large they can do whatever without consequence and we free them of the normal course of repentance and brokenness for what they have done.

Why do we do this? I believe we are under the impression that we are being noble, that we are sparing ourselves some form of grief or we are getting closure. It is a false sense of closure and we are being unjust to the perpetrators because without their repentance there is no forgiveness of their sins in the sight of Jehovah. We must be sure to not stand in the way of others going the course of Jehovah.

How dare we get in the way of Jehovah’s plan to reconcile man to Himself and to each other. We are playing gods and we are not being humble but foolish. For a long time, I felt I had to absorb the pain and evil perpetrated against me because it meant I was brave, humble and filled with godly virtue. As I continue to study the word of Jehovah I am constantly being challenged by the truth of the word. I am doing no one any good by absolving them from their evil deeds. No wonder people keep perpetrating over and over again on the righteous.

John the Baptist says these words.

Matthew 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

After repentance one must bring forth fruits that displays his/her change of heart or change of character. When we cart blanch forgive people and they consistently keep doing the same deeds over and over or walk away free from condemnation of their actions, we leave no room for Jehovah to bring them to repentance. Repentance comes through the blood of Yeshua and through no one else. Before anyone sins against us their first sin against Jehovah. Reread these 10 commandments.

Exodus 20:1-17
And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Every sin is wrapped up in these ten commandments. Thus, we can all conclude that to break one is to sin against Jehovah. Therefore, when we hinder the repentance process and take the eternal forgiveness of sins out of Jehovah’s hand, we rob Him of the potential child saved by the blood of Yeshua.

I have learned to not be so generous with the act of forgiveness because I keep seeing the same repetition of sin over and over again. I wondered why with so much grace being extended would people continue to perpetrate evil. Then I had to return to the word and forget all I had heard about the art of forgiveness. I have to learn it from Jehovah’s perspective.

We must forgive when it is solicited. Yet the Bible does not tell us to just nilly willy go out and handout randomly forgiveness but rather it tells us to preach repentance for the remission of sins. Repentance must be preached; it must be offered as the solution but not just handed over. Then the works of repentance must follow once forgiveness is given. Without the fruits of repentance how do we continue to extend forgiveness?

If my child stole a cookie and I found out perchance and just told them I forgave them what do you think they will do the next time they see the cookies? I must confront my child about the theft and then lead them to repentance. Once they repent and ask to be forgiven, I must forgive them. However, if that child continues to steal cookies and continuously ask for forgiveness knowing what they are doing is wrong, I can only conclude there is no broken and contriteness of heart, they assume mum loves them and will always forgive them. Jehovah said He will not turn away a broken and contrite heart, so what does He do with the heart that is not broken and contrite and keeps on sinning?

The entire principle of repentance is that man will turn to Yeshua for eternal forgiveness of all sins.

Acts 26:20
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Any type of repentance should always lead to Jehovah. Too often we receive the forgiveness unto ourselves hoping that the person will no longer perpetrate against us. We hijack Jehovah’s plan for forgiveness and use it for ourselves so we can overcome that person. Where is Jehovah in this? Heaven demands we forgive more than seventy times seven but only with the solicitation of forgiveness.

This is why the Bible tells us if we have ought against our brethren to go first and fix it.

Matthew 5:22-24
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

What is the biblical consequence of not making right? “Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”

Yeshua is so clear here in this text. We can’t be right with Jehovah if we are not right with our brother. Neither can we be right with our brother without also being right with Jehovah. “First be reconciled with thy brother,” is the requirement to be in good standing with Jehovah. We need to go ask for forgiveness, we need to have a broken and contrite heart and humility to take the problem and face the person whom we have offended. The offender must make the move. “Rememberest that thy brother have ought against thee.” How is this so? It is because you have offended your brother and he have ought against you – the offense. The offender must solicit the forgiveness through repentance. We Christians must practice confession so that the world might know how to confess.

We allow people to be polite and respectful without repenting. We allow them to come to us with smiles and warm-heartedness without repenting. “Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” We have a part in this when we just go along. Unless you have tried and tried to reconcile then the guilt is off your hands. This does not give us room to be ill-mannered. It merely clears us from responsibility. However if the offender comes along at some point and repents one must acknowledge their repentance and forgive.
Then, again, when you have been forgiven you must “bring forth therefore fruits of repentance.”

Luke 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

There is only one sin that cannot be forgiven noted in the Bible.

Mark 3:29
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

What is blaspheme against the Holy Ghost? It is when we make claims that we cannot be changed, transformed by the renewing of the mind. It is as the scripture states in 2 Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” We claim we have Yeshua in us but yet we deny the power of the Holy Ghost to change us and so we lie about the power of Jehovah to wash us clean through. Blaspheme is the denial of the power to be changed.

1 John 1:6-7 also tells us this, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” If we say we are in Yeshua but yet continue to walk in darkness then we lie.

1 John 1:9 also tells us this, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Sin must be confessed in order to obtain forgiveness.

WITHOUT REPENTANCE THERE IS NO REMISSION OF SINS!

It is time for Christians to clean up our act. We must be the light, the salt, the example of repentance in the world. We must stop hindering the process of repentance and forgiveness.

Then what is the answer to our personal healing so that we can continue with a clean heart and find closure? Micah 6:8, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” To be just and expect only an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. To love mercy and expect to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. To walk humbly with Jehovah means to expect to render forgiveness if it is solicited not considering the deed but rather being cognizant of the contrite and broken heart. Justice, mercy and humility is Jehovah’s way. To haphazardly handout forgiveness without repentance is to ignore justice, to relinquish mercy and to misuse humility. There is no grace in any of that only self-serving preservation.

Love gives us the ability to forgive when it is finally solicited. The Bible says owe no man nothing but love. It also says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jehovah’s premise for forgiveness is love. Because He first love, in while we were yet sinners, He is able to forgive us our sins. It is the same for us. We must love so that when forgiveness is asked of us, we are able to do so.

Although Jehovah loves all, yet His forgiveness is based on whosoever will believe. It is not a cart blanch giving away even though it is accessible to all who will receive it. How many souls have we enabled to enter hell by not allowing them the due process of forgiveness?

We nullify Jehovah’s plan for forgiveness of sin by making our form of grace. We then make people recipients of our flawed forgiveness without repentance and giving them false sense of redemption. We are not gods but followers of Jehovah. We so much want peace of mind and closure that we negate the gift of Jehovah for our good emotional feelings. There is no absolution only repentance and then forgiveness.

The church can love and walk in love with the sinner, but it cannot and must not dole out absolution apart from Jehovah’s grace – redemption at Christ expense. All must come by way of the cross. The cross cannot and must not be circumvented. Forgiveness was bought with a price, our forgiveness from Jehovah and the forgiveness of others neither which can circumvent the cross.

John 20:19-23
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

These are the words of Yeshua, The word remit means, to send away, yield up, expire, or to lay aside. The word retain means to seize, hold, keep, obtain, not discard or let go or have dominion over. So, what is the purpose of forgiveness but to lay aside a sin. When did Yeshua say these words? It was right after his resurrection when He showed Himself to His disciples. He was proclaiming the gospel to them that they have the power to preach repentance and forgiveness of sins. “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” To proclaim salvation through the redemptive works of the cross. The authority that is given to the disciples and us is to remit sins and to retain them. They are remitted with repentance and retained when there is no repentance. So, there is power over life and death. To forgive is life and to retain is death just as to preach the gospel is life and to not preach it is death to those who have not heard.

No man is above Jehovah’s grace. Paul states this much.

Romans 9:8-10
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Without a confession what then are we forgiving? Leave your gifts at the altar and go confess to your brother what ye have against him. Go tell him what you have done to him and make it right! The church is playing emotional games with the world that are biblically not correct. We must first teach the word to come to repentance so that it might obtain eternal forgiveness. Instead we are teaching the world our form of getting over a bad emotional situation. We bury the wrong in our form of forgive. “I’m going to let you off the hook because it feels better this way.”

We put the cart before the horse - forgiveness before repentance. Who would not accept forgiveness without repentance! Our need to ease the pain is filling up hell. I know I have been guilty of this practice. It felt better to just forgive so I can feel better whether the person deserves it or not.

I repent Father for the damage I have done to Thy kingdom. I repent for every time I allowed an unrepentant soul to go free to do it again. I repent Father for all those I failed to preach the gospel to every time I forgave to ease the pain of the deed done to me and to the ministry. I repent Father for crucifying your Messiah again and again. I thank You Father for teaching me time-and-time again as I read Your word what the truth really is. Forgive all the errors of my ways and help me in the name of Yeshua to continue to learn and grow in faith and deed.

Forgiveness that does not preach the gospel, endorse the gospel, or accept the principles of the gospel – repentance for the forgiveness of sins, is not biblical and do no one any good. It is like putting a Band-Aid on an open gaping wound. Eventually when the sins continue the wound gets bigger and bigger and even the forgiveness that was once offered flies in everyone’s face. Sin must be dealt with in Jehovah’s way.

I love what Yeshua said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” They crucified Him thinking they were doing Jehovah a favor. But Yeshua asked His Father to forgive them because they were ignorant in their actions. How so? It was meant for Yeshua to die for the salvation of the world. Yet the world that crucified Him both Jew and Gentiles had no idea at the time that they were fulfilling Jehovah’s prophecy of redemption. Yeshua asked for forgiveness on behalf of the world – in other words, take my sacrifice and forgive whomsoever comes to Thee through this shed blood. Let this blood be the token of forgiveness by way of repentance.

Matthew 6:14-15
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:25-26
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

These verses tell us that we must extend forgiveness if we ourselves want to be forgiven. These are referring to offences, a sin or a misdeed whether unintentional or willful. What does a person have to do to be forgiven by our Father? Repent! Jehovah made salvation available to everyone, whosoever will come, but it is not given to any man without repentance.

Luke 11:4
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

This verse specifically pertains to debts owed. This is why Jehovah instituted the year of Jubilee, so all debts have a chance of being forgiven.

Where do we go from here? We must each examine ourselves and see the areas of repentance and make good. Not only do we ask for forgiveness in those deeds we have done to others we must allow those that have offended us the opportunity to repent and then forgive if it is solicited. This is the gospel in action. “Ask and it shall be given.”

Which thief on the cross received salvation? The one who repented and asked for forgiveness. This is a hard truth to learn but it is truth. How many times have I heard people tell me that they asked Jehovah to forgive them for a wrong they did to me but yet they never asked me or actually said what they did to me to solicit my forgiveness. We hide behind Jehovah, we become spiritual cowards. But Jehovah says, leave your gifts at the altar and make right. If we are going to be clean, then let us be clean right through. Every deed must be answered for in this life or in the judgment to come. I don’t know about you, but I rather deal with it here in this temporary life than in the eternal life to come.

If you have ought against me say it, whether it be something I did or something you did! You shall be forgiven and indeed I hope I too will be forgiven.

Let us live by example!
